I just had my second shingles shot on Monday and she called me back to the desk and said she forgot to weigh me. I also got my blood pressure and oxygen level checked.

I thought it was funny since it's two seconds in the office. Unless the vaccine goes by weight like my dog's heartworm meds which I know it doesn't, I didn't get the point but okay.

@Luvsmyfam   The two reasons I dread going for doctor checkups is getting weighed and having my Blood Pressure checked.... In fact I usually fast two days prior to going to the doctor to weigh my very least....

I don't step on the scale....I tell the nurse I weighed myself that morning and I weigh ___________ pounds. That's it. She takes the verbal.

@Effie54    I often do the same.. I tell the girl it ruins my day to get on the scale and give her a weight number instead...

No it does not bother me but I exercise every day.  I do not weigh at home so if I have a healthy year than I am only weighed twice for my 6 month check ups.  I try to always wear close to what I wore for the winter visits and summer visits so the weight count can be consistent.  When my granddaughter was 3 and started spending the night with me a great deal I gained 6 pds.  That visit to the dr. was a shock.   I told her the cupcakes and ice cream would be stopping for awhile.

Re: Dr appt today

My SO is that way and refuses to be weighed but for a new med he was prescribed they needed his weight so he said do not tell him what it is.  I know I am a bit overweight but I do not care who knows what my weight is- only numbers.  I am physically fit and muscular so I actually weigh more than I look but it doesn't negate the numbers by refusing to be weighed!  It is what it is!!  The doctor can look at you and know you are overweight!  Refusing to be weighed would actually make me feel anxious since I know I could use loosing some weight.

The scale doesn't bother me at all and actually like knowing what I weigh!  I donated my own scale a couple of years ago and never missed it - so why replace it?  And, the actual reasons for going to my PCP are always far more important and interesting then my weight! I love to visit with such an intelligent person.
