Same with fruit. especially strawberries and I wash EVERYTHING, especially fruit/vegetables that grows on the ground even with rinds. Simply put, even though we have had our share of bacteria, at least the USA has more stringent laws.... and the items don't have to travel so far to make it to our stores.
So do I. I also cook everything I eat "well done," almost burned. And if I open a can of tuna or salmon and it looks or smells the least bit funny, I throw it out.
The safest foods are boxed or fresh from a local farm.

I'm still hung up on the "4 years" & "I throw up".
Heavens!
Once, ok.
Twice, my radar is up.
Three times...I'm never touching fish again.
Unless this type of fish is only eaten once a year & reaction is forgotten (?),
why would one continue to 'touch a hot stove' & eat/throw up?
Step away from the fish.
