My Dad was recently admitted to an acute hospital with a UTI and after all the labs came back, it was determined that he had MRSA. He did not have it on his last admission (May, hip fx). It has made his recovery difficult x10, and, of course, because of the DRGs, want to discharge him as soon as possible. They even put him on a "less costly antibiotic" hoping he could be transferred to a nursing home that has a sub-acute unit.
I am fighting it. His labs are still not good, especially WBC and a host of other issues.
Is this a portent of things to come?
I am aware of premature discharges, but, c'mon, already, do they want to see him back at the acute in two days?
