Does anyone have experience with LDN

My headache doctor prescribed it for me, it is a very low dose. Yesterday was the first day I took it and felt kind of loopy after taking it. Has anyone out there taken it. I am looking for the good the bad and the awful. Thank you all

Re: Does anyone have experience with LDN

@I am still oxox  I took LDN only a couple of times after having a weird neuropathy episode. Personally, I didn't like it. It made me feel out of it, and gave me nightmares. I've heard that others had better luck with it than I did.

[ Edited ]

I take LDN for multiple sclerosis and have been doing so for about 7 years. I take 3 mg a night. I have it compounded at the BEST pharmacy for LDN, which is SKIPS Pharmacy in Boca Raton (although I think they may have moved to Deerfield now) and they mail it to me in Illinois. Yes, I had the same symptoms when I first started taking it. I found if I take it at night it is better. So I take it every night at 7 pm. I've been on it now for years and I do feel it's helped keep my MS from progressing. I had to go through 3 MS neurologists to find one who would write me a script because no one believed in it and there's no big pharma behind it.  I am a believer!!!!!

@curlygirl13  Thank you I have read where it can cause insomnia if you take it at night. So I am not taking it after breakfast I am on day 2, I will see how this progresses. I have Perphial Neuropathy and this script was from the Neurologist who treats my headaches. I have an excellent compounding Pharmacy in Rye NY about 10 miles from my home and they hand deliver

It can cause insomnia, that's why I take it so early. Sometimes, I may even take it earlier than 7. I won't take it past 9pm as it can keep me awake at night.

It 's Peripheral Neuropathy, not Perphial.

Re: Does anyone have experience with LDN

Chronic pain is a terrible thing with effects one wouldn't routinely think about such as:

Being in long term pain literally changes the structure of our brains. Chronic pain reduces the volume of gray matter in our brains. Grey matter is the area of the brain which controls learning, attention, memory, thought processes, motor control and coordination. This means that chronic pain patients can have problems with memory processing, learning new things, keeping their attention focused on one task, thinking through problems and finding solutions.

Chronic pain patients had up to 11% less grey matter than those without chronic pain. This is the same amount of grey matter that would be lost in 10 to 20 years of aging! The study discovered that the longer a person is in chronic pain, the more grey matter they lose.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.
