Does anyone have a Biomat?

[ Edited ]

At my last acupuncturist appointment I tried out her Biomat.  It is a mat that you lie on, like a high tech heating pad.  It has crystals and emits infrared and negative ions.

I don't know if it was the Biomat, or the acupuncture treatment coupled with a long rest on a heating pad, but I walked out of there a changed person.  I had gone in for treatment of my lingering hip injury and piriformis in my right cheek that was so bad I could hardly walk.

Biomat or just a heating pad?  Hype or coincidence?

Thanks for any feedback to add to my research.

@SilleeMee thanks so much.  Very informative - and expensive!

I'm hoping to get independent opinions too.  I'm always wary of testimonials on the merchant's website.

Those mats use infrared heat technology. That kind of heat penetrates deep into the body and bones so it's way more than what an ordinary heating pad can do. The problem with most IR pads/mats is their high prices. I would shop around. They come in all sizes and shapes.

Re: Does anyone have a Biomat?

I have a small amethyst pad from healthyline..We love it for when we get muscle pain or when my arthritis flares in my arm.Really does help the pain.We use on bare skin to get full effect..Its just like biomat but cheaper...We bought direct from company but if you go to amazon and search biomat many many knockoffs come up for a fraction of the pric and healthyline is there to....I have had mine for 4 yrs now with no problems.

I don't have one but appreciate you bringing it up! This reminded me of when I laid on a mat years ago. I was only on it for 15-20 minutes but felt so relaxed and rejuvenated. It was amazing!! Maybe I'll look into this myself but would love to hear what you find/decide. Smiley Happy

Re: Does anyone have a Biomat?

I feel your pain...literally. I'm in PT right now because of SI joint dysfunction, which caused piriformis syndrome, hip bursitis, and sciatica. I bought this infrared pad from Amazon, because it is small and can be wrapped around the back, wrist, knee, etc. I do believe it is helping with healing my issues.

Re: Does anyone have a Biomat?

I took a restorative yoga class a few years back and the instructor had Biomats.  They are incredible and I wish I had one for home use.  They are expensive.  But I still remember the warmth and relief I felt when lying on it.

Re: Does anyone have a Biomat?

A few years ago I had treatments by a PT.  He used a wrap for my shoulder.  Didn't feel much, but an hour, after I left, it was much less painful.

Good luck in your search.

Re: Does anyone have a Biomat?

I never knew these existed and now I need one. I put one of the mats from Amazon on my wish list so I can find it later. I think I may have to buy fewer flowers so I can afford this mat. Smiley Happy
