Shared on Facebook by a nurse friend of mine who says this syndrome is not currently included on the CDC Fact Sheet.
In case the link gets poofed, I'll include a copied synopsis:
Those with Guillain-Barre Syndrome Should Avoid the Vaccine
One group of people who shouldn't get the vaccine, are those who suffer from Guillain-Barre syndrome, a "reaction, which is a rare neurological reaction to either influenza or the vaccine for influenza," he explained. "We recommend that those people do not get vaccinated because you might trigger a similar, serious response."
He did emphasize that not many people fall into this category. "You got to remember, that number of people is very, very small," he said.

Being on chemo is another one.
I can only assume there is a long list to go through before it is given.
Check with your doctor if you have concerns.

I saw on the news that children, pregnant women and people with compromised immune systems were not included in the test studies.
I haven't discussed it with my rheumatologist yet, but due to my AI issues I am not inclined to hop on board until a lot more is known about it.

@Still Raining GB is not currently listed on the CDC's Fact Sheet which means that would not be one of the many questions they ask before giving the vaccine.

@PilatesLover Those categories of people would be eliminated from most any clinical trial as would anyone with any ongoing health condition.

Thank you for posting this, @Icegoddess. I actually know someone who experienced GBS after a flu shot she was mandated to take for her job. She was compensated by the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, and still has numbness in her fingers. She is one of the lucky ones, because at one point in time, she wasn't expected to survive it.
I sent the link to her.

Anyone getting the vaccine will most likely be receiving it from a medical professional of some kind. Odds are, he or she will explain, however briefly, the dos and don'ts or, if it's like the flu vaccine, the recipient will have to fill out and sign a page of medical information prior to the administration of the shot. Even realizing how much some seem compelled to post about it here, no need, really, to get one's information elsewhere than from the medical professional administering it to you...

As someone with some issues that concern me about getting medications--due to a history of interesting/bad/stress-inducing reactions that fall off the normal reactions, I appreciate any information about people outside the "normal" area.
And before someone else points this out, yes, I sometimes fall outside "normal". . .

Likewise. And as such, I won't be the first person in line to get the vaccine.
