I've had diverticulitis since the end of January. I've had 3 CT scans as well as a colonoscopy. The pain has never gone away since my first acute attack, although it did diminish. I was on Cipro and Flagyl for 3 months.
Yesterday I had to start taking Cipro and Flagyl again because the pain was horrible.
I have insurance beginning July 1st so I have an appointment with the Dr on July 1st. I have a feeling they are going to recommend surgery. I've tried an anti inflammatory diet, food combining, liquid diet, low residue diet... anything you can think of to help this pain go away, all to no avail.
Can anyone tell me what the surgery is like?? For some reason I'm scared of it.
Thank you!
