@ID2 wrote:My whole life I would lose weight then gain it back again. I lost 70 lbs 5 years ago and have kept it off this time! I changed my whole way of life. I continue to eat right and, for me, I MUST exercise. I walk every single day. If the weather is bad I have an elliptical I use. Also I weigh myself every morning. I actually keep a log of my weight. If I stop keeping track of my weight I know I'll slip back into my old habits. I just turned 71 and I have a BMI of 21.5.
GOOD for you! I am 5 '4" and weigh 108. My BMI is 18.5. I eat right. NO junk food and rarely eat sweets. I have been a gym member for 30 years. I go to the gym every day for 2 hours.

Know what else you have to do FOR LIFE?
You have to EAT.
Change your diet.
It's been proven that cutting out sugar and starches ( carbohydrates) can actually control or reverse diabetes and control weight.
Of COURSE they want you to take "the little pill with the BIG STOW-REE to tell" or O O O whatever catchy jingle they can use.
EAT
REAL
FOOD
....and cut out the candy, cake, cookies, chips, soda, liquor, beer, sugary snacks, liquid sugar ( orange juice and ALL juices) and ANY "pill'or powder , "gummy" or "greans and reds' or magical soda-juices sold on TeeVee ....and ANY "vitamin" that has the warning on it that it doesn't prevent, cure, help, do anything for any known disease EXCEPT "chronic lighten wallet-itis"....ESPECIALLY if it's selling point is anecdotal gushing customer reviews that have NO bearing in science.
Learn how to read labels.
KNOW what you're putting into your mouth.
Be RESPONISIBLE for what YOU are putting into YOUR body. You only have one. And you only have ONE life to live.
You have to EAT for the rest of your life.
Me? I'd rather do that than take some pill.
Good Luck!!!...And good for you not falling for that nonsense.

I was a certified trainer, if you would like suggestions... Buy healthy food choices, and stop buying the stuff you shouldn't eat, or buy it in portion controlled ways! Eat every meal on a lunch-size plate. If you get hungry have a few bites of something protein, like a Tbs peanut butter. Have a reasonably healthy diet you enjoy, and can maintain over long-term.
AND move more. Hubs and I walk the dog everyday, about 1 mile and then, at 4:00 almost everyday I do a higher level workout of some kind, either aerobic, strength or yoga- Be committed to your fitness. Find an online platform you like, they all offer free trials ( if going to the gym is not appealing). Silver Sneakers or, I use MOSSA, but it's more intense. Not to make you feel bad, but my weight literally never fluctuates more than 1-2 pounds following these self-discipline rules. Best wishes.

I lost 30 lbs since September
heres the real fact for me
when I eliminated all dairy
and breads including pasta
and many foods with high histamine levels
the weight just melted
I I wasn't trying to lose weight
I was trying to feel better
I had this stupid rash I couldn't rid of
As I eliminated foods the rash went away
and my joints had little pain
and I bought a scale and shock hit
as I weighed in 30 lbs down
Its about eating protein balance
fiber and the right fruit ( many are high in sugar
staying super hydrated
absolutely fresh food nothing premade or fast food
no cookies donuts cakes nor coffees
bake or broil your meats and fish
no sauces
and OLIVE OIL IS YOUR FRIEND
)

" DIETS" don't work. Change your lifestyle. No junk. Smaller portions. MOVE every day.

I totally agree with you. NOT too hard to figure out.

could not agree more!
you have to make your LIFESTYLE not a diet. so much is mind over matter.
if you say, 'i am on a diet', then when u reach your goal weight, you go off of it, well guess what, you gain it back.
you have to mentally make the change!!! and stick with it. then it comes much more easily.
"moment on the lips, lifetime on the hips".
smaller portions
less, less sugar
less or no white carbs
more protein
more veggies
berries. vs. other fruits high in sugar

I lost 30 lbs, two years ago. It took me about 1 1/2 years, and there was no way I was going back to my old weight. Did that too many times, so I decided to make a new plan.
1.Weigh in every day.
2.Eat a decent lunch, as sustantial as a supper.
3.Protein drink for supper (160 calories ).
So far, it's working to keep me in check.
When you feel strong, you can do it again.
Good luck.

Someone asked me my age
I am 65
Im saying honestly
its the food you EAT
It's the ROUTINE YOU CREATE
I literally was Not Seeking to drop weight
but when I dropped the foods that I ate
the weight melted
For me I wanted to eat as God intended
Protein Vegetables Fruits Water
That sustains me
Sometimes at dinner I am not even hungry
Its about routine
Eating in a pattern
Breakfast Lunch Dinner then STOP!
Not all foods are good for you
it may look good
but simply put
if you eat SIMPLE the body will discard what is excess
It will, not because it did for me but the calorie content is important
Cook simple in baked or broiled
Steam cook your vegetables
Fresh cut melon and stick with berries
They have low histamines
water water water
