Hi Ladies,
Has anyone had this new mammogram which was FDA approved in 2011? My doctor told me I can request it when I have my mammo next month. It is a 3D picture as opposed to a 2D picture with regular mammography. Most insurances cover it if it is really necessary and the most common reason is if you have "dense breast tissue" or a family history of BC...of which I have neither. I'm debating if I should have it instead of the regular one. I don't mind paying the extra $50.00 if my insurance doesn't feel it is necessary. I just wondered if anyone has experienced it and if so, was it less painful than a regular one? Supposedly the compression is not as hard. I am very busty and mammos tend to be very uncomfortable for me. Any and all input is appreciated! TIA, Reva
