Hello, I hate to say this, but my A1C test was at a 6! I am inching towards having diabetes. I am not overweight, I exercise, and I eat well. But, I guess genetics has a hold over me. My mom has Type 2 diabetes as well as other members in her family. Argh! Do you know whether having a green smoothie on most days would inch me towards diabetes? I use about three or four fruits and almost an entire pkg. of baby spinach in my smoothies. I probably need to purchase a glucometer (which one?) and start testing, but I just can't stand the thought of pricking my finger. Anyone have any thoughts about the green smoothie? Does the fiber in the spinach balance the sugars in the fruits? I know everyone responds to foods differently and that's why I intend to get a glucometer. I wish they had ones where you don't have to draw blood! I don't want to take any meds, if I can help it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA
nnie
