Detox is a hoax. Your colon is self cleaning and even moreso if you run the right fuels through it. Save your money and just drink lots of fluids for a couple days and it will accomplish the same thing, which is to help your self-cleaner clean itself.
Now if you are really serious and have not had a Colonsocopy and are past your doctors suggested age? I can assure you that if you drink a gallon of Go or NuLytely, you will be as clean as you will ever get.

I was thinking more of detox with the idea of ridding myself of the sugar cravings that I have and to jump start weightloss. I am not looking for a colon cleanse or they all one in the same......

Here's a link to a PDF...for a 7-day detox with The Raw Divas. It consists mainly of green smoothies & fruit/vegetables. The PDF is very colorful & inspiring to read...and it's free. Adjust to only 3 days.

If it is weight jump start you are looking for a liquid only regimen will certainly give you lower scale numbers. Lower numbers mean little if it is not fat loss, but if you are one that has to see numbers? When I was doing competitive age group running of 2 mile/5k/10k races I would do a liquid only once every week.
This had nothing to do with weigh loss and everything to do with me feeling better. It just felt good to let my internals rest for 1 day each week and while it did make me feel better, I never looked at scale numbers. My concern with weight is the percentage of muscle to fat ratio, not numbers only on some arbitrary scale.
No, they are not the same. Some think their body is "full of toxins" because they have read and/or heard about it from some scam artists. As I said in my other post "the colon is a self cleaning organ" and it takes care of all the toxins as long as it is not diseased.
Nothing wrong with water and natural fruit juices for a few days or longer if that will help you feel better while at the same time lowering the scale numbers if they are important to you.

Think of a detoxification as elimination & perspiration. Elimination in form of lots & lots of water (1) & lots & lots of greens (2). Eat simple, alkaline, whole foods to decrease your body's energy to process. Perspiration is sweating...both from external & internal sources. Steam room for a short time or exercising to a sweat. I agree w/ the previous poster about your body "full of toxins"...if you eliminate the toxins, there won't be anything to "detox". Maintain a healthy calorie limit & try 3 days...then stretch it to 7 days...then maybe 21 or 30....strive to make this a lifestyle you live with! Report back, okay?

Amber Shea Crawley has an ebook called "The Real Food Cleanse." It's very do-able and healthy. You can Google it, she might have most of the details for free.

If you want to rid yourself of sugar cravings, try Chromium. It's a mineral supplement that you can buy at GNC in a veggie cap for under $10. The recommended daily dose is 200mcg. Take it twice a day. You should notice reduced cravings in 5 - 7 days.
It was a real blessing when I began low carb.
I've done a few detox's. You can detox colon, blood or urine. A true detox can bring up some real health issues as your body releases crud. If you are seriously ill, get the assistance of someone qualified. Try a naturopath or herbalist for guidance.

Thanks for this! I just got a Blendtec and am looking for smoothie recipes (at the very least)
