I am really sorry for your loss. I have read, with interest, many posts as I have battled and am still dealing with depression. I don't have much to add but I have found lately over the last year that I have had to limit my encounters with certain family members and/or friends. Mainly, the ones who always seem so negative. I am not saying that they are doing this on purpose, or to drag me down but it just has that effect on me and I can't deal with it as well anymore. This has made a big difference. I also agree with the posters who mentioned being a pet owner. They become our children and give us a purpose and they can be so loving/loyal.

Mistri, I only just became aware.... there is a thread for you in VP where I have expressed my thoughts. Please just know, you have my deepest and genuine heartfelt sympathy. I truly understand your loss. I wish I could give you a huge hug, but the virtual will have to suffice. You make your father proud, you are a wonderful daughter, and your love and dedication for him was obvious. Let it continue to be a beacon of hope and awareness for others. Take time to rest and mourn, but do not drown in your sorrow. You are loved and cared about, and your daddy needs you to carry on his message. I am so truly sorry, and if there is anything I can do, please let me know. Blessings to you and your family.

Oh Mistri, I am so sorry to hear this sad news. You saw your dad though everything with such loving care and grace. No one could have done more to ease his passing. Take good care and be extra kind to yourself, in this stressful and challenging time, even as you grieve. We are all thinking of you--with love. May you know only good things from now on.

I'm so sorry for your loss Mistri. I've been following your story but never posted because I didn't have any words of wisdom to offer. I admire your strength and determination to do things right by your Dad despite what happened in the past. You are much stronger and courageous than you know. May a sense of peace find its way to you soon and may you hold onto nothing less than the good memories and the knowledge that you rose to the occasion when you were needed.

My dad died this morning of metastatic esophageal cancer.
He was 67 years old.
MistriTsuirrel...I am so sorry. I read something recently which I know means a lot to me since I lost my father to cancer:
The heart of grief:
Its most difficult challenge,
is not letting go of those who have died
but instead making the translation
from loving in presence
to loving in separation.
God bless...
mistriTsquirrel...I am so sorry to hear of your loss...My heart aches for you...I will keep you in my heart and prayers tonight...Bless you and your loved ones during your time of healing...

So very sorry, and we're always thinking about you. When you feel up to it, try to seek out a therapist/group therapy. Join a meet-up type of groups. They are everywhere. try web searching for meetup.com or something similar. You can choose the group-theme that you are interested in. Join a few classes in your local recreation center. Just taking one small step at a time is much easier to begin with. Good luck to you.

Sweet mistri, you've been on my mind and in my heart. Still sending love and light in your direction, sweetie. When you're comfortable returning here, I hope you see our thread in Viewpoints. Please forgive if I overstepped bounds by posting it, but I felt your friends (you have a great many friends here) would want to know and offer support.
Please take good care of yourself.

I wanted to reply to all of your thoughtful posts tonight, but I am somewhat overwhelmed right now...and I really need to come back later.
Thank you all so very much for your kindness!! It means a lot to me.
(I'll be back ASAP.)
