A hospital had a patient with an infection of Candida auris ...the floor and ceiling tiles had to be removed in order to clean the room.

In another instance, hydrogen peroxide was aspirated into a room in order to sterilize it after a patient with C. auris vacated the room.

All microorganisms died except C. auris!

The type of strep bacteria that is flesh-eating is called “MRSA.”

I was told 10 years ago that the staph-acne on my face was MRSA! I asked the nurse PA...”you mean I have a flesh-eating bacteria on my face?”

No, she said “we just have to treat them (staph infections) all the same way.” !

Fast forward to now:

it still isn’t gone; never was my face suffering from staph.

Your friend who is a nurse probably contracted this.

This fungus was already on the radar for infection control of the hospital I retired from 6 years ago.   Not because that facility had treated anyone with it, but because the fungus had been identified, and is usually diagnosed in a hospitalized patient or a nursing home/rehab setting.

This is very concerning when there is resistance to current anti fungal medication and/or if the fungal infection is outside the healthcare environment as a community acquired infection, like MRSA, C-diff, etc.

@CherryHugs  I heard about this several days ago on the news. What next?!

Flesh eating virus.   Can be weaponized in air.  Or in water supply.  There is no cure.

Everyone dies.
