C. auris and hospitals are keeping quiet on it.

Since 2016, the most cases have been reported in New York (309), Illinois (154), and New Jersey (104).  Patients who have medically invasive procedures are most at risk.

@LTT1   A neigbor that was a nurse got in an infection in her hand and almost lost several fingers. She worked in the hospital and got it from a bed when she cut her finger. This was about 12 years ago. It wasn't a normal infection. Sorry I can't remember the name of it, but I believe it was some form of strep.

Just like e Coli, this fungus called “C. auris” has connections

with those who are already health/age/immune compromised.

The majority of the general public wouldn’t be affected.

Fungal diseases fall under the 'opportunistic' type of infections where the conditions have to be just right for them to take hold. Under most normal conditions fungi don't usually pose a threat.
