Re: Darn it! Doc says I need knee replacement(s)

I had mine done 3 months ago and have done so well. I should not have suffered with pain for so long. I had a wonderful surgeon and therapists. You must do the therapy even though it is painful at first. No one like having surgery but you will be so happy you did once you are pain free. I had almost forgotten what it was like to be painfree.

I, too, am leery about the surgery. I did some research and will try to get an appointment with the best knee replacement orthopod in the region. If he says what my local docs have said, I'll probably do it. I've been very active all my 70 years and being sidelined is torture. My husband had knee replacement so I know what the recovery entails. It's not easy, but when I asked if I can return to my daily workouts after knee replacement, I was told yes. Hope that's the truth.

Good luck, Vivian, I am about 16 months out from my right TKR & am having a great summer, finally..I need to have the other one done, my surgeon retired & I am looking for another Dr. You will be soo happy you had it done!

I've had one hip replacement, and two knee replacements.

Absolutely some of my best decisions in life. Go for it!

@chrystaltree  You'd better get yourself in gear because you usually have to wait awhile for a surgery appointment to be available after you wait to see the doctor.  Those steroid shots rapidly become less and less effective.
