I received my Silica in the mail. I started taking it today. I hope it helps. I also have mixed connective tissue disorder, so that might be part of the reason the Evenity didn't work. Who knows? My Dr will decide our next step after the first of the year. At least I feel like I'm doing something besides taking the Calcium with Vitamin D.

@SilleeMee wrote:Silica is the basic building block of collagen. Our bones are nearly half made of collagen. The silica is found within the collagen strands which have calcium and other minerals incorporated to make the actual bone tissue. The silica creates a strong bond between the molecules that make up the total collagen structure. This has nothing to do with absorption in the gut or any place else. Silica is simply a building block that helps build stronger, denser bones.
I been taking Marine Collagen (Lessman) for a few months now. Is it beneficial to also take Silica or is that overkill? Thanks!

I take both myself. I don't believe that's overkill.
