Do you like them?  Better than monthly?  I am on a trial basis right now and so far, I like them.  I go back Friday for a recheck and perhaps RX tweaking.  I am trying monovision and it is great not grabbing for readers.  I wore contacts over 15 years ago, but gave them up because I had trouble getting them out and my eyes weren't that bad.

My observations so far:

At night, while driving or riding in the car, other car lights halo and spider out.  Can this be avoided in anyway?  If I had to drive a long distance, I would remove the close up vision contact.

Also, do you ever wear the contact more than one day?

TIA  (yes, I will ask the doctor Woman Wink)

This is interesting to me. I have never had contacts, because my eyes weren't that bad. I mainly wear my glasses to drive or at the movie theater.

Then I needed reading glasses. Then I need reading glasses to read ANYTHING (How do you find shampoo & conditioner in the shower?! I had to put #1 & #2 with a black Sharpie!).

I am going to talk to my optomitrist about contacts Friday, but it's good to know others experience.

My sister said she wears the daily contacts with one for distance & one for reading. I don't understand how my brain will accept that.

@Dusty1   Somehow the brain adjusts.  It is never too late to try something new or retry something. I am 67 and I did not want to have to wear bifocals. I love the contacts when shopping.  Putting readers on and off to read labels is the pits and yes, the shampoo thing is a challenge LOL.

It is worth trying and if they aren't for you, at least you gave it a shot.  They aren't charging me right now.  I sat down with a woman and worked on putting them in and taking them out.  That helped.  She gave me tips to make it an easier process.

Come back and let me know what you decide to do.  Woman WinkWoman Very Happy

Re: DAILY CONTACTS

[ Edited ]

The night time halo is a known drawback for contacts at night, it's better to just wear your glasses at night.

I wear them for a few days then put in new ones. It's nice having a fresh pair of contacts to wear.

Thanks, @deb5555 .  I kind of thought you could get more than one day per pair.  Bummer about the halos.

Re: DAILY CONTACTS

[ Edited ]

I wear Dailies Total One and love them. I have dry eye and they are the only kind I've tried that I like. Doctor said after 24 hours, the material starts to break down. So, don't try to extend them for more than one day. They are expensive, but I never have to worry about buildup. They are a fresh pair of lenses every day. I thought I'd never be able to get back in contacts. I get the halos at night and reflectivity sensitivity during the day (from chrome, metal, and glass when the sun hits it). I have this problem always, contacts or glasses. Nothing I can do about it, but wear polarized sunglasses when outside. Of course, a nice dreary day works wonders!

I have both single (one day) and multiple (up to 30 days or wearings) use multifocal contacts. Both have pros and cons, but I much prefer the single use lenses, which are the Clariti 1 Day brand. My vision is just a wee bit better with the multi use lenses, but the single use are far more convenient and comfortable. No fusing with cases, cleaners, etc.

I've not had any issues with night driving with either lense.

I would never consider re-using the single use lense. My multiple use lenses are approved by the FDA to be worn continuously for up to 30 days, but my opthamologist strongly discourages doing so.

Have worn  the 30 day contacts - one eye only for years. No problems. At times I forget when the 30 days runs out and have worn them much longer without problems. Dailies are great, but too expensive.

I tried the dailies and they stuck to my eyes and were almost impossible to remove, almost like a suction cup.  I like the b+L bio true one day, easier to remove them.

You can try as many contact samples as you want at our eye doc, you don't have to settle for one's you dont really like, keep sampling different brands til you find a good one.
