I hae been plagued with frequent UTIs this year, requiring antibiotics. I believe I have found the cure for myself. I drink a small glass of pure cranberry juice every morning. Then I make sure to drink about two quarts of water every day - I have always been one to never drink enough. So far so good.

Everything has its downside--i recently learned that cranberry is a no-no for anyone concerned about kidney stones.

I have suffered with UTI's from the time I was little. I was even hospitalized way back in the day and various tests run to try and find out why I was getting them.
Then I went years and years without getting them. A few years back, they started again. Sometimes I would test positive for an actual infection and other times the test would come back negative. At that time my doctor told me to up my water intake to a minimum of 100oz a day. Once I began doing that, I had great success.
Then earlier this year it started again. I was already taking cranberry supplements plus the massive amount of water. I was on antibiotics every couple of months and was tired of it and tired of the feeling.
Someone on this board posted about Ellura which is an OTC medical grade cranberry supplement that is made from pure cranberry juice extract. It prevents bacteria from sticking to the bladder, flushing it away instead.
Ellura is very expensive so I started to do some research and came across CranCap on Amazon, where you can also buy Ellura. Same thing. I began taking it and I have had absolutely no problems since.
I really do think a lot of mine is hormonal and I hope this continues to work.
I tried D-Mannose and it did not work for me. I had a lot of stomach issues with it which is a side effect. Also, if you are diabetic, you have to be careful taking that as it may elevate your blood sugar.

Its best to see a doc first to rule out any other issues. But here is the one ive been taking and it really works! it has an earthy flavor which i dont mind at all, its actually kinda nice. put one scoop in water or juice and u cant taste it.
The thing with eating and drinking cranberries is that you may have consume a large amount for it to work. Its good as a preventative measure but when you're in pain and uncomfortable, u need something fast.

They have “diet” cranberry juice (Ocean Spray) that has very little sugar. Both my husband and I drink 8 oz every morning.

Uhhh cranberry juice-lots of sugar so if you have to watch your sugar ther could be some concerns.
