Prayers for a speedy recovery.  A friend of mine called me yesterday 10/4 to advise that she has Covid, she was on  vacation with a few friends, had fun but now has Covid. She is having mild symptoms at this time.  Take care !

Both times my husband and I came down with covid it was a day or two after we returned from vacation. I recovered in a week or two both times. Unfortunately, the first time my husband developed Congestive Heart Failure. We just thought he had long covid as he continued to cough for months. Even though he was at the docs regularly, they just kept giving him antibiotics and prednisone. His condition kept worsening and he went to the ER. Thank goodness we did. His heart was functioning at 25%. After a year on many heart meds and a heart rehabilitation program his heart improved greatly.

Then we vacationed again and both became ill with covid again. This time my husband started with covid , with the complication of getting pneumonia. He was hospitalized and recovered, returned to work .the following week he again was hospitalized with the flu. He never really felt well for weeks after that. His cough and wheezing (asthmatic)  and fatigue was terrible, We returned to the ER because his breathing was labored. Turns out he had a saddle block pulmonary embolism and was in Intensive Care for 4 days. Luckily he survived. Doc told us 25% of patients die before they know they have it.

They also said Covid causes CHF and pulmonary embolisms . I have to leave this in God's hands to protect him. I'm praying he doesn't get Covid a third time, don't know if he can go thru any more! We tell him he has nine lives because by the Grace of God he is still with us.

Hi @Trailrun23 .

Can you say why your dr advised against it?

My dad gave me covid 2 days before he passed. Luckily, it was mild because I had all my shots at that time.

My doctor advised against Paxlovid because my case was mild and it has side effects to avoid if possible.

I got both the covid and flu vaccines two days ago.  Everything is normal except I was unusually tired last night.  Both arms slightly sore,  not bad.  I've never had any reaction to either and have gotten the flu vaccine since it was invented.

I had a bad reaction to a flu shot and they advised me not to get it or the Covid shot!

I survided COVID but will never be the same.

I only got OTC meds for the symptoms, same as you would for a cold!  No other meds!

@Shelbelle Why no Covid shot? You are always so cautious about product ingredients that I wonder why you are avoiding covid vax?

Maybe she's up to speed on the facts and knows it's not the great thing people have been led to believe.

@Zhills - I had Covid for the first time in late March. I came through the actual infection quickly, but have never been the same either. It started with horrific fatigue for weeks after and then one thing after another since then. Multiple visits to the ER, multiple trips to urgent care, multiple specialists.  I just can't seem to get my health back on track. It makes me very sad.

Take care.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

I had my Covid shot the first week of October.  I intend to get my flu shot this week, and hopefully my second Shingrex in December.  I like to space them out.

A friend who's a nurse pushed me to get my vaccines when she stressed that she's seen so many bad outcomes from illnesses that were preventable.

This time the Covid shot made me feel bad the day after, but I wonder if I caused it by having a highly inflammatory meal that day and the day after (leftovers).  Just a thought.  I’ll eat healthier when I get my flu shot.

I’m grateful for the Covid vaccine.  When I finally caught Covid I had no congestion, and I don’t think I coughed once.  I had fatigue for a few weeks, and a bad three days at first with headache, body aches, and fever.

I’m sorry to hear how it affects some people for a longer time and hope for better times ahead for you all.

In a perfect world all vaccines would be one and done, and keep us from ever feeling sick.
