I had been unsure if or when I would get the vaccine until this week. Covid has struck my family and a dear friend this week and I have changed my mind. I am anxious to get one when I became a candidate. Not trying to cause any disagreements but I am ready to get one.

@KCDiva

I am sorry about your family member and friend and I hope that they recover fully!  I believe it is your right to speak how you feel about this and do what you feel is right for you.  Blessings....

Sorry about your friend and family member, hope they get better soon the vast majority will.

The vaccine is a personal decision based on each individuals situation.  It should not be made out of fear or pressure from others.

Someday, when scientists discover the center of the Universe....some people will be disappointed it is not them.

I was sick with covid in the hospital for several weeks. There's not a doubt or hesitation on my part to get the vaccine.

Everyone should do what they feel is best for them.

I'm glad you've decided to be vaccinated.  I will as well, but in due course.  There are many others who need it first.

I will get as as it's available to me- I have worked in Clinial research data management for 30 years. The scrutiny for approval is thorough and cautious and  I 120% believe the statistical data - 95% effective and very safe. It sounds like the only exceptions are those people who tend toward a strong allergic response.

As a nurse, my sis expects to get her first shot very soon.  I am so thankful for that.  She has been caring for Covid patients off and on (and she's old with asthma), so I worry about her all the time.

Six of her co-workers have had it...one man killed himself after a long struggle.  Yesterday, I got an email from a friend telling me about the death of someone I've known since kindergarten.

I cried this morning watching the news showing the trucks roll out filled with the vaccine.

It cannot come soon enough.

Getting the vaccine is not just doing what is best for you but about what is best for humanity.  It is critical that the majority of people take the vaccine to reach herd immunity.  I will get the vaccine but like many others, I am a bit nervous yet know it is the right thing to do.  I didn't expect to feel so emotional watching the trucks leaving to deliver the vaccines this morning.  An historical day.

I am so sorry for those whose loved ones and friends have been affected by COVID-19.  My cousin just called me last week and she tested positive with symptoms.  Hopefully, she will be out of the woods soon.

I am comfortable and ready to get the vaccine (either the Pfizer or the Moderna one) as soon as it is available for my age group.  I have been following this for months (it's part of my job) and I am comfortable with the research.  It's been rigorously tested in much larger populations than nearly all drugs that are FDA-approved.  The FDA, CDC, and the drug companies have extensive safety follow-up systems in place. The vaccines will be deployed around the world so by the time it's your turn even more will be known about them.

Having said that if someone called me up right now and said hey come on down to the clinic I would pack my husband in the car and step on the gas!  I want our economy, schools and yes, my life (!) start to get back to normal and this will not happen unless a lot of the population gets vaccinated. As bad as this has been we are nowhere near natural herd immunity.  Extensive vaccination will get us there.
