@SeaMaiden I am a retired CDA (certified dental assistant) and I believe the price you were given is fair and in the ballpark. Many times it can vary due to the geographics of your location. However, I"ve had a couple implants done due to a car accident many years ago. Of course being in the field helped me with costs but I have to say I would have done it regardless. They look beautiful and natural as will your veneers. They don't really cause "damage" to the teeth as the enamel is only slightly removed for this procedure. To me, a healthy mouth is priceless!!! It not only gives you confidence but will assist in proper chewing and digestion. I wish you well and think you should do it for yourself.
@SilleeMee I am sorry to hear of your situation but please look into possibly having treatment done at a local dental school or look into donated dental services. There is some help out there for you. It takes some time but may be worth it. Good luck.

I am very very sorry for you going through this.
It is a significant loss. You are allowed to share your pain.

SilleeMee: If you live near a dental school they have good dental work they offer the public. It's very inexpensive compared to a DDS. You work under licensed DDS, with 3rd year students. Check it out.

Good morning @SeaMaiden: just saw your post and will try to answer - it was about 25 years in between replacement of veneers. I have clocked many hours in dental chairs keeping in mind treatment with endodonist, periodontist and oral surgeons. Bone grafting and gum sculpting periodically just to be able to have implants which I have no more and which were my least favorite. I know they are much improved like everything else but at that time they were uncomfortable for me and required a lot of maintenance for deep cleaning. Realizing some of these steps seem extreme but this branch of my family tree just have crummy, natural teeth.
Again, I will end by saying I love my veneers and would do it again should the need arise. Hope this helps, if not, holler back.

@SilleeMee If your body is "rejecting" your natural teeth and the natural bone/tissue of the mouth can not maintain your teeth implants may be the worst idea out there. The complication rate of implants is too high for the risk. What a waste of time and money!
I would find a specialist that can custom make a speciality plate of dentures. I know your mouth is small but there are specialists that can craft plates for a myriad of special or complex conditions such as reconstructive surgery after cancer or car accidents where the mouth and palate are permanently disfigured.

I'm in a similar situation, but need 6 veneers. I had them done originally 20 years ago, and they are in need of replacing. It isn't going to be fun having the old ones stripped off and new ones made - but it is necessary. The price I was quoted was $2500.00 for (1), plus a wax up fee (for each tooth). For 8 veneers, you're getting a good deal.

That price is GREAT! I have seen great veneers and bad veneers but sounds like you have a fabulous dentist.
Just make sure they check your bite. My uncle had to have a veneer replaced twice on one tooth as his bite was 'off' and the impact caused that one veneer to chip and crack twice in just a few years.

@Abrowneyegirl Thanks for your input! I will definitely make sure about the bite as my front teeth are a very tight fit to my bottom teeth as far as bite is concerned. That is huge in how the teeth fit in your mouth. Thanks so much for the vote of confidence. I am still trying to come to a decision.... and will decide over the weekend. Call them Monday if I decide to do it.
