If you get this for  any health reasons, do you receive them from your primary doctors ?

I guess depends what you need them for, but I believe always a specialist for whatever the problem is.

I've only ever gotten them in my wrist from my Orthopedic doc, (after I saw my PCP first for the issue...not saying you have to see pcp first, not sure on that...but it just happened that way for me.)

My mom used to get them for her knee...also from her orthopedic doc.

@goldensrbest I just received a large joint injection at a walkin in ortho clinic in my hip.   I do not have a primary doctor anymore as my physician has passed away.

I guess it depends on the reason for the injection, and if you have any underlying issues that would prevent you having cortisone, my thoughts are that my primary care physician has my complete history and watch for interactions.

I've received them from my ortho doc and my podiatrist.  I've never received any from my primary.

I get the injections in my knee from my ortho doctor.

I get hip bursitis injections from my PCP.

The only cortisone injection I have received was for an elbow injury. It was administered by an orthopedic surgeon.

My doctors office said they do not give them, i remember about 9 yrs.ago the primary doctor i had then gave me a injection,because of pain.

My ortho doctor diagnosed the condition, so he gave me the injections.
