Corneal Transplant... Anyone With First-Hand Experience?

My S/O just had one done on 6/25 after trying everything else. Prior to the surgery he was essentially blind in that eye, able only to see blurry dark and light. One week post-op, healing is slow. His current surgeon seems extremely knowledgeable and competent, and says results can take up to a year.

If anyone has had this procedure, or knows first-hand of someone who has, i'd appreciate hearing your experience or thoughts. Thanks so much, in advance. ~ sue
