Re: Cooking with aluminum foil

Thanks for the info and it makes sense...  There has been a connection between aluminum in deoderants and breast cancer, and I remember reading something a while back about aluminum and the brain....

BTW, I have used a deoderant that is a roll on that is made from crystal. It's been effective and I've used it for years (can be found on the bottom or 2nd to bottom shelf) at WalMart.....

Re: Cooking with aluminum foil

I find myself cooking more and more with parchment paper rather than aluminum foil.

@SeaMaiden

Try silicone mats...the best.

I also use the QVC mesh silicone trays.

And parchment, of course, in a pinch.

👍👍

I agree with @sidsmom the silicone cooking pads they have now are great. Re-useable and safe and non stick. I got mine from BBB. What more could you want?

Re: Cooking with aluminum foil

Recently bought silicone mats at Costco...very reasonable.  I also buy my parchment paper there.

@Q4u

Good point about the aluminum in our deodorant.

Sounds like you've found a good product.

If you want to go uber minimalist, how 'bout making your own?

Coconut oil, cornstarch, baking soda, tea tree oil.  Boom..done.

I make a batch (1-1.5cup) about 3 times a yr....yes, it goes a long way.

I like to make my own, but it seems to irritate my underarms (the baking soda).

I'm still on the hunt for my favorite.  I just started using this one, and I like it so far:

Image result for nubian heritage deodorant vetiver

The brand is called "Nubian Heritage," if you can't see it in the photo.  The fragrance is nice and light.  It's herbal and a little fruity.  It doesn't sting my pits.

I bought it at Meijer, but Lucky Vitamin also sells it.  Probably many other places too.

Re: Cooking with aluminum foil

I've moved away from using aluminum foil for cooking,  I use parchment paper and I intend to buy some of those silicon discs and squares.  I do use foil to cover things but not for cooking.  I don't click on links so, I don't know what the article says on the subject.  It's just a matter of common sense for me.
