Colonoscopy

DH had a colonoscopy yesterday with good results. The doctor told him his colon was very clean and that he had only a few pockets (divertuculosis) which is not unusual for an older gentleman. The only problem was getting the IV inserted. Three people jug him numerous times before they could get the needle in. Ouch!!! Of course with the prep procedure he was not very hydrated. He had very little gas after the procedure and we went out for breakfast afterwards.

His preparation was much different than mine. He took two dulcolax pills at 4 PM. Then starting at 6 PM he took four 8 oz. glasses of Miralax/Gatorade juice. Then he got up at 3 AM and took another 4 glasses of the juice mixture. Total of 64 oz. Other than having to get up at 3 AM it was much better than drinking all 64 oz. in 4 consecutive hours.
