IndiaToday: Deconstructing black fungus: How mistakes in Covid treatment is leading to a new epidemic

https://www.indiatoday.in/coronavirus-outbreak/story/black-fungus-treatment-covid19-oxygen-crisis-18...

"Understanding the black fungus is more important than succumbing to its fear. The dire situation of patients who have been desperately trying to source oxygen to save their loved ones has caused this new edition of the black fungus to surge. At the root cause of this is unclean water and oxygen, Indians practicing the yogic Jalneti (nasal water cleansing) using unclean water have also succumbed to black fungus in the past."..

Re: Celebrity Millennium Cruise Covid +

I never cared to go on a cruise even before the pandemic. The thought of being confined to a ship with hundreds of people isn't my idea of fun. I'd rather fly and spend more time on land. I'm in close quarters on a plane, but it doesn't last long.

I agree regarding large cruise ships, seems there have been numerous issues in the past several years, even pre covid.   I have zero interest in being on a large ship with a few thousand people.....no thank you.  I have done many in the past and once I did a small river boat cruise, there was no turning back.   IMO, they are run much better and most only carry an estimated 100-150 people.  Much more managable.

At least those two cruisers were vaccinated as they all should be for the health and welfare of the rest of the passengers.  When cruising resumes in Florida no proof of vaccine will be required even though surveys show most cruise lines and passengers want vaccines to be mandatory.  It  certainly appears some people have a desire to just prolong this agony.

smh that people still give credibility to surveys - they can be scewed in so many ways.

@teganslaw LOL!!!  Me either.  To me it sounds like being trapped at a busy mall.  I can't imagine being cooped up on a ship like that and nothing offered there is appealing to me.

And looking at how many people there are on a boat, you know the odds of someone testing positive are pretty high, all things considered.

Re: Celebrity Millennium Cruise Covid +

I have a life and plan on keep living it my way, and what "might be's" are not any part of it. Will some of all these come to fruition? Beats me, but 1 thing I know for sure, I classify them as "beyond my control". Those events do not and will not effect how I live the rest of my life.

Isn't nice that people have a choice now.  Everyone can assess the risk, their comfort level and determine for themselves if they want to participate.

Someday, when scientists discover the center of the Universe....some people will be disappointed it is not them.

I have no desire to take the risk of getting on a cruise ship. There are plenty of fun things to do on land, many beautiful places to visit.

@RetRN

I am sure you have heard this a few times, but here goes. Have told many people "I can't fly and I can't swim", so avoid those modes of transportation.

Will fly, but only for special reasons. So far that is to get to New York to watch my New York Rangers hockey team play at the Garden.  Figured if it's my time, hopefully it's on the way back, after I have seen the games.
