I'm going to get one for each hand.  Saw my doctor today, my right knee is making me limp, (the old grey mare, ain't what whe used to be), and while there I asked about what I was feeling in my hands and could it be carpel tunnel.  So yes, I'll get the hand supports to take care of each one.  Support for while I sleep and while awake.

Does anyone have experience with these gloves?

Many people in the workforce use those gloves. They seem to help. Years ago, many friends had to have surgery. Not hearing that as an option unless it is an extreme case. Sorry about your right knee; hope both hands improve with the gloves. Think you will find them comforting to wear. Best wishes to a less painful way of living.

@qualitygal,

I have been wearing braces/splints on my hands at night for more than a year, after a severe flare up of carpal tunnel.

The Dr said the nerve in my right arm was nearly paralyzed from the huge gauge needles used for platelet donation.   The inflammation was severe, and took a long time to heal; I could not hold/grip anything in my right hand for 2 full weeks.

My medical doctor wrote a prescription for the braces, and I took it to a local medical supply company.   They were a stock item, and my insurance covered the entire cost.

My hand slips thru the brace which separates my thumb from my fingers and keeps everything straight;  I tighten the brace with a Velcro strap.   I only wear mine at night.   They absolutely work and do the job they are meant to do, but it will take you awhile to adjust to having something so rigid, and cumbersome on your hands when you are trying to sleep.

Starting that first night, I instantly realized what I was doing with my hands all night that was causing the numbness.   I have not had any flares since wearing the braces.   My doctor does not support me with continuing platelet donations, unless I am prepared for surgery, which I am not.

Personally, I never cared for the gloves. I felt they were too tight and constricting and I just wanted them off. However, my carpal issues were worse at night (rather than during the day at work) so I opted for the wrist splints and wore them every night for years.  They helped a lot and pushed out surgery for quite awhile.  Ultimately, I did have surgery done on both hands and it was the best thing.  As soon as I had the first one done I went back to schedule the other hand as it made such a difference.  I wish I had done it years sooner.  However, that outcome is not for everyone and its definitely worth trying other treatments before going that route.  A cortisone injection did help as well.

Now I'm in the same boat with both my knees...

Good luck.

I had carpal tunnel surgery for both hands several years ago. I wore the gloves forever: they made a huge difference; I also didn't want to incur further damage.

Finally, on a very hot summer night, I quit the gloves cold turkey.

My husband suffers with carpel tunnel and arthritis and wears splints for the CT and Tommy Copper gloves with the fingers for the arthritis. My husband says he does get relief from these appliances.

 I used the gloves with the added metal splint for maximum protection. I was a candidate for surgery but tried acupuncture first. That acupuncturist got rid of my horrific carpal tunnel. Eventually, the nerve damage healed. It never came back.Heart

Carpel Tunnel here, too, in my right wrist.  Wore the gloves with metal splint 24 hours a day for over a year before the pain totally subsided. It's good now, except my wrist is a bit weak when doing certain things.

I got it from shampooing the rugs...pushing the shampooer back and forth...flexing my wrist.  Now, I use a glove to keep my wrist straight.
