Hope everyone had a lovely mother's day whether you are a mother to a furbaby, human or both.

GC despte the work you are doing there it sounds like you are having a nice time. So how did the niece do with her driving and how was sister??

Lot's of activity going on here with Fran's birthday bash happening tomorrow. They are ordering in food and we are preparing the table. She's just sitting putting in her two cents. I said your not suppose to interfere.

Other than that nothing much happening here except I want to kill my husband every 5 minutes. He has to sort out his back and go back to work.

Things are slow and lazy here.  I have the extra time, so there no having to rush.  The house is looking good.  Stocked up on staples.  Bought some plants, need to pot them this w/e.  Landscaper came over this morning.  He can't do the work for a couple weeks.

Saw sister sunday.  Niece didn't drive.  We had steady rain.  I said I'll drive us there, you drive us home.  We get ready to leave and she says she doesn't have her papers.  What papers?  Said the DMV have her papers and will mail her drivers license.  I said no papers, no drive.  My mother thought I was a prude.  LOL.  We stopped and had Mexican food.

Sister was fine.  She's all anxious because a Dr was brought in to meet with her and give a formal assessment.  He spent four hours with her, then came back for another hour to do the ink blot test.

gc---sounds like everything is on an even keel with your sis, mom and kids--good for a change, right?

I think there is a small glimmer, of dim light, at the end of our long drama of---- house vs. tree ---contractor and adjuster finally MAY have reached some sort of agreement with the $$ for the house  re- con. I called the guy in MO who is the claims guy for us and he said he would get in touch with the dumb a*s*s adjuster to tell him that the contractors bid was fine with him-----and to get er done!!! Now all that sounds slightly better than before altho not sealed in blood---but enough to start boxing up stuff, maybe??!!!  Still not feeling 100% good about any of this tho------it's been 5 months since the tree fell !!!! Hubs is home loading up his truck with boxes of things that have to be recycled thru the hazardous waste station. His garage is looking pretty good too, altho he has 4 more bays that need work. He is trying to clear it out for the contractor to be able to store his equipment in, so he can  lock it up and keep it safe.

Weather is cool and wet but so very green--rhodies are ablaze with blooms and now the white flowering trees are full. Had 3 young deer wander thru the yard and saw a young racoon at the creek the other day. No bears, thank you lord !!!

Going to chiro for a tune up then will start the packing. Have a donation truck coming Tuesday too.

happy weekend to all!!

Ya, everyone here is stable.  Got mother all straightened out.  Sister is anxiously awaiting for the physiologist report.  She's getting along with roommate, shocking.  Nephew ended school this week.  He's going to work with his father painting all summer.  Niece has another month of school.  Will be making high honor roll.  Not looking hard for a job.  She needs eyes on her, but she'll be loose all summer with a car.

taking mother out to the casino tomorrow.  Need to get out.  Been working around the house all week, need a carefree day.  Going home on weds.

well maybe things will keep on a roll pam. Boxing up is coming, doing it at your p ace is better.  Hopefully less stressful.

good Morning all---

Seems like there has been some movement with the insurance twerp and the adjuster jerk and our contractor-----was just about to send the 2 ins guys a BIG box of ExLax to see if that would break up the clog-------the MO ins guy finally got the adjuster/contractor stuff so maybe in -----omg----who knows how long Man Frustrated---we will be able to get this house thing going--it's only been 5 1/2 months !!!!!  In the meantime, just put out 10 boxes of mostly my clothes that I don't wear and a few odds and ends and also 10 more pairs of shoes------but still have alot to do.

Not much else going on--weather is normal spring NW weather but should be nice over the long weekend. Going to meet up with my brother at a local camping site on  Sunday for a bbq. And keep on packing and donating------sighhhhh!!!

thats all folks !!

OK I finally reovered from Fran's party. Lot's of work and most of the people there were useless. I was brought up in a different time. You help out. Her daughter is 80, I'm not young and her son everytime he stands up topples. Anyway she had a wonderful time.

Pam everything seems like it's coming together. See I told you the good lord has his timetable. I put it all in his hands.

GC well I guess your wrapping things up there. I know everyone will miss you. It sounds like a rather relaxing visit even though you accomplished a lot.

Hope everyone else is well. Weather is improving her. Didn't even need a jacket today.

Pam - sounds like your house vs tree and ins vs contractor is about to start moving, maybe even without your dose of ExLax to get them going, LOL, you're a hoot!!  Sounds like it's giving you a chance to do some rooting out of "stuff", which is always satisfying.  I need to do more.

Still am suffering with plantar fasciitis, but can walk ok with my good shoes on.  Am not to go 10 steps without them.  Everyone says it takes a while and I think they are right. Got a pair of sandals to wear out and about that are really supportive where I need it and comfy.  Of course I'm on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the next month.

GC, welcome home if you are here - we have dreary weather today.

Have to go buy some flowers to plant in my large planter on my patio.  This is a pretty time of the year with everything blossoming.

Hi to everyone!

Spoiler

So in typical fashion regarding my run of bad luck lately------should have not mentioned ANYTHING about the construction on my house getting closer to reality-----now the knucklehead ins claims guy, wants an independent contractor to come over and go thru the house  and substantiate the bid from our contractor-------WTH!!!! I have 3 or 4 bids already from the guys that came thru earlier; I have photos of the damage-----feels like ins is thinking we are trying to rip them off.  The company that was chosen here in Seattle to do this, has horrible reviews from their various jobs as well as is  not accredited by the BBB.And....he works thru insurance companies so I'm thinking that he will lean more toward the ins co and not us. Hubs is furious!!!!! Is this normal???? You know we have been with these ins people for decades, never had 1 claim until last year. I am stunned !!!! Will be doing research about what our recourses are.

I don't know about that insurance company Pam.  It seems like an unreasonable amount of time to get the show on the road.  Can you see them in person or are they only by phone?  See or call them and be firm that you need this job started and want a date.

I am home.  Yahoo.  It was trying.  Flight was 9:35.  We got to the airport 8:55.  The plane was boarding.  Luckily, made it.  Had a 1/2 hour layover in Detroit.  Had to change terminals.  It was a hike.  I think I walked by birdmama's house.  Got to the gate and the plane was boarding.  Made it here by the skin of my teeth.  My friend was waiting at the airport.  Had lunch, took a nap and here we are.  Don't go back to work until Tuesday.

Pam I would be on the horn calling the higher ups at the insurance company and writing to the CEO. This insurance guy sounds shady to me. For all you know he's getting kickbacks from these contractors. Something just isn't kosher about any of this.

Well GC you made it home. I'm sure everyone there appreciated your hard work and your company. Now if you can try to rest up.
