oh birdie---how awful for that young girl and her family. But hopefully her young age will help her thru this. Not that it will be any easier as we all know, cancer is not for easy anytime. Please keep us posted.
I don't have any childhood friends that I still know about. One girl from when I was in my first 10 years of life lived in my neighborhood and we were friends thru high school but that's it. My BF in AZ is the only one I have now. We have known each other since 1976-ish, I think.
So the saga of roasty, toasty WA state, continues-----we have horribe air quality now due to hundreds of fires in British Columbia, canada, that the smoke is blowing down here. Have been told not to even fire up the bbq grill, it is so bad. Worse than L.A even. There is a smoky, hazy cast all around and the sun is very orange. Sunsets are spectacular. And it's not supposed to be as hot--only 95* instead of a 100.
Am sending a photo of the first round of lilies--got so many more waiting to bloom, but these are the early ones. Notice the double lilies, light pink--omg the smell is divine. My faves are the white ones that just opened , so will let them stay outside and cut them for inside today.

Pam, what beautiful flowers you are growing. It brightened up my day. Wow, it must have been something else building a house. Rennovations are no fun as I am learning. Everything I did here was before I moved in.
Well the contractor came yesterday. Yes it's going to cost a fortune and no I don't care. Now to get the ball rolling here. Approval from the management company. Picking out the tile. Lot's of work and husband needs to be a part of it. He's not running off to the UK as he planned. No toilet for over a week. I said a urinal at night and Fran's apartment during the day. That's how we are going to roll. Small price to pay for something beautiful. Hey I was at Woodstock the first one. No bathrooms that you could actually use and we had the bushes. I brought toilet paper.Good thing I didn't squat on poison ivy. Ha Ha.
Anyway, relaxing a bit and then to do something constructive.

Hate to tell you Pam that we had a weather event today, but the temp dropped. It poured in the morning and was around 60. Tomorrow will start out dry, then rain in the afternoon.
Spoke with someone from social security today. She was as working on sister's disability case. Called conservator on his cell phone, no answer. Called him on his office phone and he answered. We spoke briefly. I told him I wanted to see him in person when I come at the end of the month. Called the social worker, got her machine. She didn't return the call. What else is new... I could get rich if I got a dollar for every call that doesn't get returned.

Hey Lannie! I just received the following in my email because I follow Suzy Cohen. I like her lots. Anyway, I thought you might be interested in reading about this. I have not ordered. I may one day as I do trust her work and have learned from her. I am still taping mouth and I do wake up during night, but am able to go back to sleep. I feel that I am getting more sleep.....maybe only mins. more, but more. Anyway, this is an FYI.
Edited to Add: Did you get your chair??? If so, how's it going?

GC yup that sounds right. No one takes any pride in what they do. They make you jump through hoops just to get them to do the simplest things.
OK this is the lowdown on Boniva, etc. My friend is a well know oral surgeon in Australia. I wrote and asked him about it. He;'s written several papers on this. He said unless your teeth are in pristine condition don't take it. If you need an extraction down the road the socket will not heal. So there you go. Boniva is sitting on the table and that's where it's staying. Will have to find another way.
I'm actually going to take a walk.

bow - thanks for the sleep info - I would definitely order the product they offer to try, but it's a little on the expensive side for what is actually in it and how many you get. I may talk myself into it anyway, we'll see. Everyone wants to get rich off of us who have problems!
Andrew Lessman has one with very similar ingredients for about half the price - I may try that one first. I do trust his vitamins and products.
No, I haven't gotten my chair yet - this coming week it is supposed to be here. I can't wait. Was telling my chiroprator about it and he wants me to report back about it - is worried it might put him out of business he says, lol! It should be so easy.....
Glad the tape over your mouth seems to be working - good idea to keep you nose breathing. I think I would have nightmares that I was being held hostage.....or back with my ex.....
It's cool here today, but looks like rain.
Pam - your flowers are so beautiful I can almost smell them - keep the pics coming!
Jackie - why woud Boniva not let a socket heal - I would think the opposite??!!! Chemo did a number on mine.

Boniva, fosomax can cause necrosis of the jaw. I knew another nurse on it and she lost half of her teeth. Yeah, Lannie, chemo did a number on all of our mouths as well. Plan B. Pray and lift weights.
Read there was a huge tornado in Tulsa. Hope Goldie isn't getting any hurricaines.
Expecting rain tomorrow.

It was supposed to rain yesterday. I did outside stuff in the morning, then it didn't rain. Had to go to pickup a prescription by work, 20 minute ride and it poured there. Today supposed to rain again, dark and gloomy all day. It poured like crazy around 6pm for about a half hour.
Mother got two past due bills in the mail yesterday for sister. I have no idea what the conservator is doing with these bills. These bills are all from before she went to the home. I'm going to have to call him tomorrow. It's exhausting telling these people to do their jobs.
Spoke to sister this morning. Is it possible sister remembers stuff? It seemed odd. She knew I didn't live there. We have that conversation every time I call. She knew what day it was and the date. I asked if she received her new clothes, she said she was wearing them. She described what she was wearing and it was the new clothes I sent her. She wants to go home because summer school is ending. I tried to steer that conversation in another direction, but she kept pulling it back. She said she's been out and staying at another place. We talked for a half hour. I don't think I'll ever stop second guessing did I make the right decision.

Jackie....I took Fosamax yrs. ago for an osteopenia diagnosis.....they had been monitoring me for a long time and finally put me on that . I took for probably around 3 years. At the first talk of Fosamax Femur, I talked to my doctor and quit taking. It was also about this time that Vitamin D was being talked about.....not yet accepted by Western Medical Doctors as having any effect, but alternative medical world was widely endorsing. Today, I take Vit D3 an Vit K2. I have taken other supplements along the way. I have not had a bone test in a long time...... These are such hard decisions to make, but the medicines they prescribe frightened me away. Keep researching for yourself and try not to worry.
ETAdd: I also, try to get some exercise in.....for me it's walking and walking with my poles. Also, remember housework is exercise....like sweeping, raking.....things like that.
Lannie....Yes, maybe give the Lessman supplement a try.....who knows? The tape is helping me for sure. It doesn't shut my brain off from thoughts which can still be an issue, but I think it helps with the other stuff I wasn't even aware of. Looking forward for you to your getting that chair.
GCR....you probably will be second guessing decisions because being responsible for your sister is like being responsible for your child.....you always second guess especially critical stuff. Just learn to make peace with all your decisions. You are doing the best you can with the info you have at any given moment....remember that.....don't be too hard on yourself.
Pam.....love your pics too. Enjoy those flowers....
Wishing all a great week ahead!!!

gc--you made the right decision about sister. You know how up and down she has been. You saved her life!!!!! I am hopping mad every time I hear how incompetent the people who are supposed to help her and you, are. Grrrrrrrr!!!!
bow-----have many more lilies close to blooming---a few of them are on stems that are taller than my 5'5" height. I bought lilies off the Q this year so got them weeks apart, and planted them weeks apart which make it so I will have lilies all August instead of over and done by the end of July. Will send more pics soon.
Our weather has not been so awfullly hot after all---but there is a very thick layer of smoke that is keeping the sun from blazing down---from many forrest fires in British Columbia; WA state borders BC --and the northly winds are blowing it down our way. The sun looks orange and shines an orange light which is a little freaky. Many folks with breathing issues have been told to stay inside.
Today is day 51 of NO rain!! it has tied the all time record set in 1951 for dry days and will continue until maybe the weekend when there may be showers---have to say--I will enjoy that!!!
this week is busy--gotta take stripey cat in for her calcium level blood lab, gotta take the car in for emissions test for tabs, going to chiro and maybe to Comcast store to yell at them for my $250 a month cable bill!!!! And have decided to pack up all the stuff I took from when we cleared out the FIL/MIL place 20 years ago., and take it to my SIL and nieces to deal with----It's all hidden away and never sees the light of day----need the room. I took it because I thought it was too precious to just toss out. Lots of clear pressed glass serving pieces and even a couple from around the mid 1800's from great grandparents.
Man, I'm exhausted by all that. Hoping Goldie is ok---
ok, Im done for now!!!
