that chair looks very comfortable, Lannie. Went to the GYN today. My bp iniatially was 150/84. I was nuts when I saw those numbers.I repeated it and it was 120/80. Geez. Anyway we went over my bone density and decided that I should start on boniva since in his opinion the femara didn't help. I'm halfway to osteoporosis. . He said hopefully everything will improve in time. Everything else is OK. Gyn wise he's not concerned. See him in a year.No vaginal sonogram.

bow---yes, yes, my mouth is a cesspool---not really tho----- ;-)
What a great thing to see the end of remodeling in sight--I've lived in my house for 31 years now--and it's still not done and now it needs a do- over!!!! Must be a thing of beauty!!
jackie---my BP does that too and I'm not one to panic over appts So what gnarly things does the boniva do, side effect wise?
good grief--we are in for several days of upper 90* to almost 100* temps !!! will be 90 today and then on up thru the weekend. OMG--can hear all the whining and moaning over that--including from me---no AC in my house and bedrooms are upstairs!!!! Got fans going all over now to catch the cool morning air.
lannie---those zero gravity chairs are really nice and not that pricy--have seen them for under $50. they are easy to up from too.
ok now I am off to practice my PAM---(pis**s and moan ) over the hot weather!!!!

Hi bow - I am glad your project is nearing it's end, but I'm sure it was worth it. This way you have everything how you want and need it - I loved building the houses I did, picking out things I knew I would love to look at and live in. I never did a remodel, but I know it is a lot of work. Sounds like you re-did or updated everything! You should go on H&G TV - did you consult with Joanna and Chip?? Dealing with the contractors is the challenge sometimes.
I honestly think it gives you a sense of accomplishment and then enjoyment to live in a place you really like. Look at the beautiful earth we have and enjoy - in my mind our houses are similar. I hope you will be comfortable in your "new" home! Never had one, but always wanted a porch. And the landscaping can add so much. Good for you girl, to have done this and you did it your way, lol!!! There is freedom in being single!
The zero gravity chair is just like a chaise lounge to get in and out of, no problem. After I got in this one, I just used my feet on the bottom bar to take me backwards. It only goes back so far and I guess you are supposed to be in the position the astronauts are when they go into space - that's the speel anyway. Tried to order on online from Kohl's and they charged me extra shipping fees and I wouldn't pay those. I think i was about $60 or so. They do make them for inside, but look like they belong in a space ship and are expensive! I think your idea is good to bring it inside over the winter and throw a comforer on it.
Pam - when it gets that hot and humid, I would have to go sit in an air conditioned movie or something if I didn't have air conditioning! Every house we built from the 1970's on had central air - it's the way to go. I have a wall unit here, so I freeze in the living room and the back bedroom only gets slightly cooler. It has a ceiling fan though, so it works ok for me.
Supposed to be 86 and humid today, so I will for sure be using my air.
Jackie - we had patients on Boniva at the clinic and they did really well on it - hope it works for you.

lannie--we don't get the humidity with the high temps so that is good. Got the house buttoned up with ceiling fans and reg fans in every room going. seems like the first couple days are bearable but then the next few aare hard to cool down. Supposed to be 90 today, 94 tomorrow, 99 Thursday, down to the mid 90's over weekend, and then mid 80's by Monday--highly unusual for western WA; eastern WA is always a blast furness.
I never really liked this house when we built it in 1986---the plan was to move and build again a few years later, so I picked out stuff inside that I didn't HATE but didn't really love. The hubs was such a raging maniac about it that I tried not to have to deal with much. sigh...........

Pam - building a house is very stressful so I know what you mean. I built 2 with my ex and one without him. BIG difference! I had to work within a pretty strict budget, so I was limited on certain things, but still enjoyed picking everything out. There were a couple things I up graded, but I always made sure the house plans would be very re-sellable and all sold very fast, even my last one when the market was tumbling down.
The humidity is what kills me - can't hardly breathe the air. I don't even feel well in this kind of weather. My thermostat is shot, but what else is new..... Then my cat goes and lays in any sun she can find coming through the patio door.
Ordered my zero gravity chair through Home Depot - will be there for pick up next week. Can't wait. $40. Only thing is I didn't get a color choice - it's blue, which is ok, wanted grey tho.
Well, keep that house dark and closed up - does it get cooler at night? It does here, but still humid.

You know you can go nuts if you read the side effects from these drugs. Muscle aches, jaw necrosis, nausea blah blah blah. However in this case the benefits outweigh the down side so I'll take the bloody pill once a month and call it a day.
I have my AC on 24/7. It's the humidity that gets you. I'm at the stage of my life that comfort means more than the electric bill. In a few months we'llbe screaming that it's too cold.
Husband is upset because stepson didn't call to say goodbye. He wanted to meet him for coffee. I said when will you and your ex leave him alone. He's busy with his lady love. They are enjoying Manhattan.till tomorrow. We had a lovely visit with him now just let it go.
Fran lost her best friend last night. She was 99. Can you imagine?? She's OK with it. She said she had a long and beautiful life. She also said it hasn't hit her yet. She knew her for 90 years.
Pam I'm happy to hear that I'm not the only one who has white coat syndrome.
‎08-02-2017 12:03 AM
Jackie, how can you have white coat syndrome? I don't think I've really had Dr fear. After all the Dr appt for the cancer, it doesn't even phase me anymore. Used to be shy about undressing...well that's gone too. I'm numb to it all. I see the oncologist, rheumatologist and NP this month. I have to get blood done for rheumatologist and NP.
Sorry Pam, but you'll have to keep that 100. It was mid 80's today and thick. That's enough for me. We are having storms Thursday, then it's going to be 68 on Friday. I can't wait!!! Need to get a little out door work done. I am spoiled. I can't live without my central air. It's painful going back to CT with the window air conditioners. I don't know how we did it when sister and I were kids.
How, you should get one of those chairs too and take it easy.

Hey Lannie....I have a question for you. When you went to the sleep doctor, did they talk to you about mouth breathing while sleeping??? I've been reading up on that. Mouth breathing is not good at all as we are supposed to be using our noses. I didn't know if I was one or not so I did as suggested. You put some micropore tape across your mouth and see how it goes thru the nite. I feel like I do mouth breathe .... probably off and on. Anyway, I have been putting the tape on my mouth, and I truly feel that I am sleeping better. Wanted to mention this to you just in case you were interested. My daughter who is staying with me this summer....in and out a lot ....has been in FL these last few days and got home earlier today. I just remembered to tell her if she sees me with my mouth taped up, not to freak out. She just shook her head and laughed...thanks Mom for telling me. My daughter is a little more serious minded than me.....she says....more of your juju I guess.
Glad you got your chair ordered and hope it arrives very soon so you can begin enjoying it.
I am curious if anyone else knows about this mouth breathing stuff? I didn't.....and from what I've read, it can make a huge difference in your health, sleep and life in general.
Pam, hope you remain cool as a cucumber in all that heat. Most people here have central air, but I remember back in the day, when people would go to the Malls to get out of the heat. Hardly any Malls to go to today .....it seems they are all closing.
Jackie......have you looked into anything natural you could take or do to help with the bone thinning?
‎08-02-2017 07:55 AM
OK Bow maybe it wasn't white coat syndrome. Maybe it was the 20 oz bottle of diet coke that I drank waiting to be seen. I really wan't nervous being there although he hasn't seen me in almost 2 years. We talked about exercise and Vit D. He said it really won't help with this. Exercise is always beneficial but he wants me in the normal range. My girlfriend Rita went from osteoporosis to normal bone density on Boniva. Now that she is on femara she has to stay on it.
Lord I fell asleep at 10pm yesterday and am up with the chickens. It felt so good to have a decent nights sleep.
Hey GC when I was growing up there were no air conditioners. Hunter fans and lots of ices and ice cream. We played outside, got filthy and jumped into the tub. I remember my mother covering us with powder.

bow---I did laugh at the thought of your daughter looking in in you only to see your mouth taped up!!! New one to me about sleeping wth your mouth open and quality of sleep---hubs does that and snores like a buzz saw. He broke his nose at age 10 and really needs surgery to fix it but of course he won't. Can't sleep with him as I have insomnia---those 2 things do not a happy marriage make.
lannie--yes, the house cools down but after a few days of this heat, it gets harder and harder. We here in Mossy-ton (washington) don't usually need AC----you should see the lines at the Home Depot stores to buy the window ones. However, when the furnace dies---I will insist on adding AC. Nice price for the chair!!!!
I never had white coat syndrome either and don't really now except when I feel cra$ppy. All my next appts are in Sept----onc dr and labs and then back to diabetes center to check up on my A1C. I suspect onc dr will tell me not to come see her until Sept of 2018.
OK-- got my food list done---going to get stuff for a few easy, cold dinners to serve for the next few days. Cooked some delicious burgers last night that heated up my otherwise cool house. What was I thinking???
