I was treated for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in my spleen. If you can get your husband, friend or significant other to sit with you during chemo, the time will fly by. My husband did that for me and I'm so thankful. Good luck to all of you getting ready to start chemo and I hope and pray that things go well for the rest of us. Happy Holidays. Sue

What a fabulous holiday gift!! You are a survivor and an inspiration!!

Sue--Congrats on your LAST chemo !!!! I had friends come with me to chemo too, but I also went alone sometimes and that was just fine too. The nurses (my angels {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}) made sure I was doing fine when I was alone and came to visit when they weren't running around crazy. Are there more treatments for you? I hope you get a break!!

For all my lovely friends here---Have a fabulous time these next few days!! Wishing you and yours the best. Onward to 2015 with much good health and recovery and let's kick these nasty little cancer zombies{#emotions_dlg.angry} into the dirt!!!!

Peace----PAM

F1 great article. Now the only way to get over your back pain is ice and anti inflammatories. That's it. I have a tens unit in the house that works like a charm. Takes care of the muscle spasms. Maybe you should consider one. I got mine on HSN believe it or not. It's by Tony Little. We even bought one for our hair dresser. He loves it.

Patty, everyone reacts to chemo differently. It may not be terribly bad. My girlfriend sailed through hers. Me, I didn't know about Claritan when I got the neulasta. So I had the aches and pains. Her hair is growing back already. Mine took forever. Go figure.

Sue, cyber drink on your completion of chemo. Happy Days.

Blessings to all,

Jxx

Thanks for your advice, Jackie! I know what I'm supposed to do...I just have to do it. I've been slowly wrapping gifts because sitting is horrible. I just do a few then walk away. I had a tens unit years ago when I first injured my back (L4-5, L5-S1 disc rupture). Believe it or not, I am too ticklish for it. I had doctors, PT, NP all try different settings, but I just laughed uncontrollably until I just about wet myself. I'm a total PITA!

I just wanted to wish everyone here a very, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! You have always been here for me when I needed you, be it when I was going through treatment or having a recent scare. I love that Goldie and Ruthie started this thread so many years ago, and it has helped so many people. I'm sure there are many who don't participate, but who have been helped immeasurably by reading about your journeys and finding answers to the questions we've all had at one time or another. Bless you all!

Sunshine, I want to congratulate you too about finishing chemo. Now that you've been through it, you'll be able to help someone new to this! Lizzie you don't have to thank anybody for this board, YOU and these kind ladies make this board what it is! Everyone is always willing to offer support and encouragement to anyone that needs it. My hope is that someday there won't be a need for a board like this because they found a cure and cancer will be a thing of the past. That's my wish. Merry Christmas to all. Goldie

Sunshine - doing a Happy Happy Dance for you!!! And having a cyber glass of champagne to celebrate your last chemo - you did it, you made it through - cheers for you!

My son got to read a little statement and ring a bell for his last chemo - and the nurses all gave a big round of applause for him - it was really cool!

Now relax and take good care of yourself. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I took it a day or 2 before chemo and then for a few days after chemo and the shot, which I got the day after chemo. Seemed to help I think. I don't remember why it can help. Also I got my shot in my stomach. I had a mastectomy and node removal on my left side so no shots there and then I had my port in the right side so thought having to deal with a sore arm from a shot didn't sound so comfy. But my belly-----oh lordy--I have LOTS of stuff there for a shot.{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes} Didn't hurt at all. I think the claritan helps with some of the side effects. I had my shot in the a.m. and by that evening, I started feeling some pain/aches in my jaws and down to the rest of me--kind of achey in my muscles and bones. It lasted for the next day and then the side effects were gone the day after that. Ask if there is some pain relievers you can take. I don't recall taking any but I prob did. And please take any meds that will help you. It's all about getting thru this as easy as possible.
