I don't think I mentioned it but I had ,my nephews wedding last Friday at a winery in NJ. We stayed at Harrah's for 2 nights. Lord was I surprised when they gave us a suite. I said I'm flabbergasted. The rehearsal dinner was last Thurs. What got me is that all of these big girls are wearing dresses that show everything and the tiny ones were dressed appropriately. It cracks me up. The bride is also big. Don't even ask what she was wearing. Anyway we go to the wedding and I'm sitting outside because I can't even think with all of the loud music. All of the older ones were out there too. That night when we all got back to the hotel we went downstairs. Figured I should bet something. Won 275 bucks and called it a day. Decided to take a covid test for the heck of it yesterday. I have 10 in the house. It was negative. Happy, happy happy. No symptoms.

Surgeon on Thurs. No big deal.

@JackieHN -----well good--so you had a good time then? I think anything goes these days for weddings--I haven't been to a wedding in years-- but nice about your accommodations--I would enjoy that-- and winning some cash then testing neg for covid---WOW---you hit the jackpot  Woman LOL how was the food?

Went to my heart dr yesterday for my annual check. He was dressed in scrubs and ready to dash to the OR for an emergency procedure ---luckily he made time for me--earlier this year it took me 3x to see him--2 times I got to his office and he had to dash to ER, so never saw him--spent $60 on  Uber those 2 trips-- but finally saw him the 3rd time I went in--that was $90 in one week!!!  So when I heard he might have to leave I was really ticked off. The man is a great guy and I like him alot and can't bit*h about him saving lives but.....dang!!!

Had my 50th school reunion a few weeks ago--I didn't hear about it til the next day---my SIL sent me photos she found on facebook--I did not recognize anyone--they were so OLD looking-Woman Embarassed---but as soon as I got names I knew who they were. One guy I was buddies with in school, ended getting into a road rage situation the following Monday-(Sat was the class reunion) and was shot and killed by the other driver!! Have no more info at all--was on the news--but no follow up. I decided to join classmates dot com to see if there was more info --there was not --but good grief--I have gotten 80 hits on my page of all these people I went to school with!! Especially from the 2 girls I hung out with --they reached out and we have been emailing back and forth. Been kind of fun.

OK today is a very cool and grey day with chances of thunderstorms---been way too hot for us weenie PN folks--DD is off to Oregon for 5 days, leaving tomorrow,  with a friend going to a jointed doll convention. they are taking the train down to Portland--I love trains---- and way cheaper than driving and fighting horrible traffic. Stipey cat and I will be on our own---

my lilies did not do very well this year--scrawny blooms that didn't last as  long as normal--am a little miffed. they should be all gone by now but due to the horribly cool wet spring--and then the blazing hot week we had--they just are blah!!  Kind of like me---BLAH!!Woman Frustrated

That's a successful weekend, a wedding, seeing family and friends ,winning $ and a negative covid test!   I wish I could say the same. I have been sick since Monday after two negative covid tests ,finally tested positive today.  I feel pretty miserable, but it could be worse!   Em

@embgm --aw geez EM--so sorry about that all that. So you took 2 tests that told you you didn't have covid, then got sick, tested again and now you are positive for covid?  This whole testing process makes my head spin----my brother and wife got sick, they tested at home, which turned out to be negative for covid, yet they were sick with the covid symptoms. then they tested again after a few days and still tested negative but were still sick with obvious covid symptoms---so not sure they got a bad batch of home tests or what---so confusing to me!! and now they have change testing and isolating times again as of this a.m. Anyway--take care of yourself-----

Sorry to read you have covid @embgm

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise

My husband was still recovering from covid, when I began to feel sick on Monday with covid symptoms. I was shocked when my test on Monday and Tuesday were both negative. I tested on Thursday with a test from a different box and it was immediately positive. So perhaps the original tests were faulty. I've been in bed for a few days, hoping for a speedy recovery. Em

Em these home tests are a joke. You take the first test, then wait 48 hrs to take the second test. Now they are recommending a third test. Just best to go to your Dr or an urgent care center.Once diagnosed it's best to do to your Dr to get checked ot anyway.

It has been awhile since any of us have posted. Are you all doing ok? Boy for me it has been a rocky past 2 weeks--first my cat----has had the last 2 weeks in and out of the vets office---seems she now has IBD--irritable bowel disease---had many days of no eating and then vomitting many times a day--she lost most the weight she put on after the thyroid isssues----now on meds for that and actually IBD is a precursor to cancer----good grief--they suggested doing a biopsy or endoscopy to find out for sure----I said no-- let's try the meds and special diet if the meds don't work.

Then I spent a few hours in the ER last night, got a CT scan of my belly and found out all my stomach issues this year  are diverticulitis!!! This last week was absolute H*LL !! Am on meds for that and will do the specific diet too---my brother had that a few years ago and after 3 bouts of ending up in the hospital, he had surgery. AND--if all that wasn't enough--my other brother who is 66, crashed on his bike ---broke both elbows, a wrist and 2 fractures of one arm. He has a concussion that they found bleeding in his brain,  he cut open his chin , and bite his tongue and inside of his mouth as well---His face is all scraped up and raw and his chest and legs too!! He is an experienced biker rider and would ride many hundreds of miles in a month. He is home now but  needs surgery ---this happened on Friday so it will Monday to set up his surgery. The brain injury worries me but he had two scans, and at the ok of a specialists, they sent him home. My poor SIL! She sends me pictures and I almost can't look at them. It will be many months of recovery.

OK-----not ok, really!!

Oh brother Pam. Sorry to hear all of this. hopefully Stripey cat and your brother will be fine. Sounds like a terrible accident. They'll patch him up. He's just going to have a long recovery. My husband rides his motorcycle all of the time. I said get into an accident and tell them not to call me. Your too ****** old to ride one.

Diverticulitis?? Antibiotics and anti inflammatories. I have those pesky pockets as well. Probably the only reason it hasn't gotten worse is because I'm on antibiotics every other minute for my mouth. Yes it was recommended that I take fiber. I told him. Maybe you would like to glue the toilet seat to my rear. I don't do fiber well. I've had a fun two weeks as well. Will write about it tomorrow.
