@HerRoyaLioness ---Have been thinking about you this time of year---hard to believe its been 5 years---

Yes this is the settlement phase of the big D---haven't heard anything from anyone for a few weeks--decided that I will not get so worked up anymore--just does horrible things to my mind and body---

Our weather is back to being wonderful--warm days, sunshine and blue skies---nights are great for sleeping and no humidity. DD came across a momma duck and her 4 babies tootling around this a.m. on her way to work--so cute!!!

DD and went out for breakfast Sunday a.m. at a new place close to us --was delicious!! and so many happy people inside and out--enjoying the weather and the food---was a very happy place.

I went to my brothers house on Saturday for a good bye eat fest--- for an elderly couple who are moving to AZ this week, to live--they sold their house in 2 days, too, for way above the asking $$. got everything out and gone and the things they are taking was in a moving truck----a few other people there too-- was nice to get out. My nephew picked me up so got to visit with him too. Nice day!!

Did you find a suitable food for your cat? One thing I do too, is give stripey a small spoonful of pumpkin once a day too---she loves it and got some probiotics for her food--she loves that too. Cat Tongue

Day 4, no symptoms of anything. I have never met such stupid people in my life. I didn't want to go but if I didn't it would have started some really bad feelings with them. They will not and I repeat not see me again until everyone is vaccinated. Numbers are going up in NY again.

it's hot here. AC blasting.

Pam doesn't it feel good to walk to some good eateries in your neighborhood. Your in a better place.

@JackieHN --It constantly amazes me how many STUPID people there are in this world------like I've said--it should hurt to be stupid --altho if they get covid it will hurt!!!!

Yes it is nice to walk the neighborhood----but still am being careful---have masks with me at all times. And crowds are a no-no for me---the restaurants still have the plexi between the booths.

geez--fires are blazing in eastern WA----but no smoke where I am ---yet!! Been lucky to have the wind blowing it away. Last year was horrible!! Weather has been cloudy and cool but still dry---I think this is day 32 of no rain----may get a sprinkle today and then back into the 70's and sun next week--perfect!!

Going to get my stress test today as well as an echo on my heart, then going to see an ortho dr about my right shoulder, next week, it is a mess--can't do much lifting or moving it---not sure what the heck is going on with all these ailments-----DD says it is trauma/stress  from all the moving I've done--but over all achiness and soreness is much less since I stopped taking the red yeast rice and the arimidex----always something!!!

Good morning all!! Hope you are doing well. today is another glorious grey, cool day but with sun coming in the p.m. hours. Was able to sleep under covers and no noisy A/C going these past few days---

got my ultra sound and stress test done yesterday but my b/p is out of control!!!! DD said it is from trauma of late-- and stress too so this will HAVE to be addressed-----but the tests were no big deal. Now hopefully the dr will get back to me in a few days.

Nothing new to report--yet---geez this divorce thing is taking forever------

Pam what do you mean by out of control. Mine was 140/90 and he put me on Lopressor. I was stressed to the max when I went to see him. He said I'm not worried about your BP I'm more concerned about your craziness and the Lopressor will help. It did. Too much stress girlfriend. Don't worry about the divorce for now. Let it go. The good lord has his own timing.

When I did my stress test my heart rate went up to 190. I said are you trying to kill me. You better open up your crash cart. He said your still in sinus and doing really well. Your just out of shape.

@JackieHN --my blood pressure has been in the 150s/80s here at home for the last few months--but after the stress test it was192/92 and then188/82----my heart dr isn't too concerned--told me to take an extra tenormin. usually it is 120 ish/ 80 ish or less. And I know stress is a huge thing --am trying to settle down. and not sleeping well for many months doesn't help either. DD says I am traumatised from it all--could be. Should ask for compensation for the  jerk head being so detrimental to my health and well being!!!

any way, dr called me yesterday to give me a high five as my tests were great!! Even the mitral valve seemed not as leaky as from before---so I am good with that---Was surprised  that he called---and that he called only a day later instead of posting it on my portal.

Geez Pam, you just finished your stress test. what did you expect. Your fine.

OK I have to pick everyone's brains. The City of NY wants to put all of us retirees on Medicare Advantage. Anyone on it and if so what has been your experience. Right now we have a choice. Go on the Advantage plan and pay nothing or stick with what we have and pay a 200 premium every month. I'm picking the latter. I do not want every test request to be pre approved by some 20 year old non medical person. Right now I can have any test my Dr wants.

I agree with your decision Jackie! Also, one of my family members tried to see an Oncologist Specialist at one of the major cancer centers and they were told they didn't accept any Medicare Advantage plans. Scary.

@JackieHN ---oh I know my b/p would be high afterwards--just been having higher than normal readings for me lately. Dr told me to take extra beta blocker so I am.

I know nothing about medicare yet--still on the jerks insurance until the big D is final---but a good question to ask when I start looking at that.

Re: Cancer survivors

[ Edited ]

Jackie - I chose an advantage plan from the start after seeing many kinds of medicare claims and what they did or didn't pay for.  Both adhere to certain medicare guidelines across the board. Advantage plans pay for some things straight regular Medicare doesn't.

You, we all, pay for medicare insurance - it comes out of our SS checks before we even get them.  I pay about $145 per month but nothing extra for my advantage plan.  My drug plan is included in my advantage plane - I don't pay anything extra for it.  A lot of my scripts are $0 copay.  I get about $150-200 free OTC products every year, of my choosing.

But before I confuse you with more details, (referrals and such) I need to know what medicare plan and/or drug plan are you on right now?

What kind of advantage plan is it that they want you to be on - who manages it?  Mine is called Humana Gold.  Different areas have different plans.

I remember when they first came on the scene many years ago and was at a conference with a Medicare rep who was teaching us about it - I thought it was confusing then, but it has gotten more so as the years have gone by and the commercial insurances have gotten their greedy hands in it!!

By the way, make sure this isn't a scam, an advantage plan trying to get your business, cities can't tell you what insurance plan to be on, it's your choice.
