Hey Belle--glad to hear from you too!

Haven't been posting much. Still dealing with a rotten stomach but went to a gastro dr and have an endoscopy scheduled in a few days. He thinks its from the Celebrex I was taking daily. Prob burned a hole in my gut. Was told to take omeprazole with it each day but of course I didn't. Geez---always something, you know!!! Gotta get back to normal before my trip to AZ next month. Dearly love the celebrex as it wiped out the constant low level pain I am still in, from the tamoxifen, or chemo or old age or who knows what!!!

Weather here has turned into full fledged fall mode. Trees turning colors and it is  chilly and grey and wet again. Had to turn on my heat in the house a couple weeks ago and am wearing long pants, shoes and socks and a few layers on top. My stripey cat is getting all fluffy from her winter coat growing back too. More hair-------everywhere. Cat Embarassed

PAM

Pam.....are you familiar with astaxanthin???  If not, look into it...you miHght really benefit from taking it.  I have been taking it for years.  I take BioAstin brand 10 mg. daily.  It has many benefits and some say a great healthier replacement for Celebrex.  Hope you feel better soon.

Beau--it sounds kind of familiar but I certainly will look it up. Would be great not to have to take anymore drugs. Tell me why you are taking this? I have muscle/joints aches and pains that never seem to go awHeay no matter what I do .

thanks!!!

Hey Pam!

A few years ago, I seemed to always be having issues with tendonitis and/or bursitis....made me feel very old....and also I think that my body was full of inflammation and I got on a quest to help myself all that I could and that's when I came across astaxanthin.  By the way, I just checked my bottle and I take 12 mg. not 10 mg.  Anyway, it also helps with your eyes and a multitude of other things.  The following is a short utube clip you might find interesting:

Also, this:

And this is the one I take (I order mine from iherb.com):

I really believe that this has helped me and as a matter of fact when I was post-op and still in hospital bed this last time, my surgeon came in and said he had just been reading my file and saw where I took this and he had another patient a few yrs. back who took the same thing and he said that we both shared a vitality and healthiness that he usually doesn't see, and wondered if it could be this.  He told me that he has now started taking it....lol

Anyway, it is not a miracle pill, but it might be of benefit to you.  I always try and give something new at least 3 months to see if I see a difference in whatever I'm looking for.

If you decide to give it a go, I hope it helps and hope the doctor you're going to see soon will also be able to help you.

My best to you....Heart

I had three hours sleep last night.  Not bad for a week. I went for my blood test today.  The nurse said to get a prescription from the Dr.  The Tylenol pm likely didn't work because benadryl does nothing to me.

Blood test wasn't good.  WBC 1.6, RBC 2.4, Hemo 8.1.  The Dr wants me to come back tomorrow for a aranesp shot.  He doesn't want to do another transfusion.  I didn't like what I read about it.  I guess ill ask questions tomorrow.  I knew numbers dropped, but I don't feel as bad as those numbers look.

GCR - you gotta get some sleep girl - those steroids should not be affecting your sleep yet.  What did he give you for it this time?  Hopefully it can knock you out for more than 3 hours.  Although I only slept for 1 1/2 hrs Monday night and had to go to work the next day.  Not good.  Hope you continue to feel ok and that the injection helps with your levels.  2 more - keep hanging in there.

bow - yes I had a small nodule/lesion that they found in my left lung by accident.  My onc said it did not look like cancer, but they have been keeping a close eye on it and it has not grown or changed.  That one had me worried, but I guess it is not an uncommon finding and there could be a number of reasons why we get these.  I can't tell you how many times I got my will in order and my funeral pictures ready!  Then the cyst in my brain came and I thought well, this is it, but that has been behaving.  Then came the lump in my non-cancerous breast, but it turned out to be bengn - I had surgery on it anyway.  Whatever does not belong in there comes out.  I'm hoping nothing else comes my way again for a while, I'm tired of dealing with all this.

Will post more when I can - I started a 2nd job and have been so busy my head is swimming or maybe it's just the cyst in my brain!

Oh, wow, Lannie!  Then my memory is not so wrong after all.  So, something else we now have in common....TNBC and this.  I had forgotten all about the brain cyst.  The word "cyst" doesn't "sound" as scary as lump or lesion to me, but any word used in connection with something being in the brain that doesn't belong there is scary....anything to do with the brain just rattles your cage.  How did they find the brain cyst?

I want to thank you so much, Lannie, for getting back to me.  I really appreciate it.... and with another job, I know how difficult it must be to take the time to post and all.  At least now I know that it sounds like we are both "being watched" and that is the way these things are handled.

Hoping you will be able to get some rest this weekend.  I need to leave early in a.m. headed back to where house reno is going on and all I do is sit and cannot make myself do one thing to prepare to leave....I honestly sometimes wonder where my head is.  I have to push to get up and do stuff and I am not one bit tired....just lack the get up and go attitude I need to get up and go.... lol....Smiley Embarassed

Not sure if you guys have been following Lisa Mason's story.  She left the Q because her husband had cancer.  She came back this year for a short period, then went out on personal leave.  There's a post in the community forum that her husband is no longer responding to chemo and Lisa is leaving again to be by his side.  So sad.

Got four hours sleep last night.  Got a prescription when I went for my shot.  Had to sign my life away before they gave me the shot.  I'll get a second one in three weeks.

Reduced my hours at work.  I'll be working half days now through the end of November.  The social worker said I should account for time after chemo is done.  I'll also get seven days off after chemo.  At first work was good, but this low blood level thing makes everything difficult.  I get winded pretty quickly.

I heard the words today every cancer patient wants to hear, no evidence of cancer (NED). The Cyberknife Radiation I had in March is totally kicking cancer's butt. I had my C-Scan at PA Hospital today and my radiation oncologist called me this evening when he received the written report. My heart skipped a few beats when I saw it was a Philly number calling. He went over the report and told me pretty much what he told me earlier in the day. I have radiation fibrosis (not to worry if I have shortness of breath, this will go away). I am so so lucky to have such caring doctors and I never expected him to call me with the results. I can view them online in 5 days and I tend to pick every line item apart.

I wanted to share my fantastic news with everyone!

JerseyGirl....what super good news!!!!  There may not be a cure yet for CA, but we have come a long way.....Cyberknife Radiation being one example.  I know you must be ecstatic and your doctor sounds like a very caring person.  And radiation fibrosis is something I didn't know about.....interesting.

I'm happy dancin' for you......~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  Heart

Yay, JerseyGirl! No evidence of disease! Not only did you get terrific news, but you got it quickly from a doctor who didn't want you to worry all weekend. How cool is that? After you come down from the stratosphere, tell us how you're celebrating, and know we're all celebrating with you!
