Re: Can anyone recommend a heating pad that actually heats up?

Yes, as Judy0330 stated--Thermophore which is more expensive but recommended by doctors. It gives moist heat that reaches deep. It lasts. You need to hold down the tab so that it is safer. Different sizes. The large is the way to go-it is not THAT large. Good drugstores and online.

Re: Can anyone recommend a heating pad that actually heats up?

I have a king size Sunbeam that is one of their more expensive models. When I first got it, the heat went up to an "8", which I used to use occasionally And then turn back to 6-7. One day after I'd had it less than a year, when I turned it on it wouldn't heat past 6. It never has since, and the 6 setting isn't hot enough many times. But I'm afraid if I buy another one the same thing will happen.
