DH and I got our first vaccinations on Wednesday in Northern Virginia. We pre-registered online with the City around the middle of January for the 65-74 age range. We received an email confirmation that they'd accepted our registration within a few minutes of submitting it. We didn't expect to hear anything anytime soon, but things started happening once they folded us into the higher priority group (we went from 1c to 1b). They called us last Saturday and set up our appointments for Wednesday at a local Harris Teeter supermarket. I don't remember them sending any reminders, but we stayed on top of it because we knew we'd have a hard time rescheduling if we missed it. We just walked in, got our shots and hung out for 15 minutes before going home. Around 4:30 Wednesday afternoon we got an email notifying us of our appointments for our second vaccinations a month later. We were very pleasantly surprised at the efficiency with which everything was handled. According to the news, this hasn't been the case in other local jurisdictions.
