Have your husband log on the insurance website, there is usually information where he can request a letter of creditable coverage.   it's probably in a prominent place or in the FAQs

In my opinion, health insurance has gotten completely out of control. $1100 a month ? That's insane. I can't believe the American health care system. Most expensive and not as good as many other countries. Someone needs to do something about this.
