I was prescribed many different medications for hypertension until I found one I could tolerate.   I currently take Bystolic, have you tried that one?   It's generic now.  Nebivolol

I can't take any kind of meds for relief of arthritis, only acetaminophen.  I use CBD cream topically.  It helps

Taking CBD orally is not a bad thing but in my opinion, and I'm not a professional, I would not rely on it alone as a substitute.    Get a 2nd opinion

my Dr. wants  me to start taking this instead of another Blood pressure medication .  I already take a mild one , but it isn't low enough my dr feels.     We have tried many others    all I couldn't tolerate.   I am very sensitive to meds.  I have done some research and I'm just not sure about this CDB .   I can't seem to find info on if it's standardized .   I know that's  important plus not all oils or herbs are safe depending on where they come from and what grade is used .   An herbalist would be who to consult I'm thinking Has anyone taken CDB oil if so what are your thoughts?

@Kitty Galore   So are you talking about CBD oil with or without THC?

If you are going to purchase it go to a dispencery they will have the real thing.  You get stuff from stores but look at ingredients. CBD might be last ingredient.  At a dispencery they are like pharmacist and they will tell you exactly what to get.  I have friends who say it works wonders concerning pain, never heard of it for blood pressure though.  But the staff at the despenceries can answer all your questions.  Good luck and let us know.

@sunshine 919   Thanks I will 😺

@Kitty Galore I am not reading the other responses.  If your doctor is recommending CBD oil, he should direct you to a reliable source.  I wasn't aware that it is supposed to lower BP, maybe by helping with stress.

I've never taken it but interested in the responses here. I didn't know it could be used to help with hypertension.

You wrote it that way three times so I thought it was intentional. So sorry, @Kitty Galore.

I am similar to you with blood pressure meds....they throw me for a loop and so there are many I just cannot tolerate. I will be interested to see if this might be an adjunct substance that could help with controlling high blood pressure. I don't know much about it but I think some people use it to aid in sleep, too. I could certainly use help in that department.  Woman Frustrated

@pupwhipped   Oh that's ok ,  I didn't mean to be so blunt.   Apology accepted 😺

I have a really hard time with meds in general ,   So BP meds seem to not be tolerated at all for whatever reason.   Now I am able to take Losartan which is good but it didn't work well enough so that's why my dr wants me to take some other BP Medication along with it .   Just can't find one .   I'm sure this CBD works for many conditions.   I'm still looking into this oil not sure how it will work with other meds I take .

@Kitty Galore Thank You and interesting question. I am not allowed to even try so am interested in thoughts. My doc has a sign says any of his patients caught taking will be dismissed. LOL. Is because he is pain management and due to his prescribing of controlled substances even most CBD can turn a urine test alightly positive (heavens forbid) He just trying keep himself out of troubles.

Anyway I have never relied totally on western medicine. Goodness knows the horrible things that can happen with some of our "modern" drugs. Us natives have used naturals for centuries.

All that being said is nice your doc is open minded enough not to have his patients totally reliant on big pharma and is open to add some safe adjuncts.. I think naturals can be used as a good adjunct to modern meds each has their place. Even the naturals one has to be careful as certain ingrediants can be toxic in large doses.

Like another poster stated all CBD is not equal. Where you buy, carrier fluid, all those factors really do matter. Some cheaper carrier fluids go rancid so quickly. Some as one poster said CBD is last active ingrediant. There are some reputable distributors and dispensaries in some states. Maybe your doc has some good source info if you decide to try. I have friends who swear by CBD. My nerve pain from this rare illness unfortunately CBD did nothing when I was able to try.  IS the CBD for lowering BP directly via vascular or for lowering stress which we know how stress relates to high BP eh? Let me know please how you are. What an interesting Doc you have. Lots of articles to read out there on web...just check sources Good luck xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Stormy

@Stormygirl   I've always been open to alternative medicine ,  I actually do t like taking medications as I know there is a little but if poison in every medication and one must weigh the pros and cons .   I used to go for acupuncture regularly,  loved it , then we moved .  I need to get back to that plus many accupuncists are herbalists as well and could maybe help.   To answer your question it is more for stress as he feels that may be all I need .   Still reading all I can on this oil I am worried about the toxins .   It seems from you and others here a dispensary is the place to get it if I do.

I just had to reply to this thread, I was curious with the OP question and did a search, and there is plenty of medical evidence of CBD trials on blood pressure and that it does work. It's amazing no one else actually looked it up, so this physician is giving her an alternative to a drug.

Here's just one of hundreds of sources listed and it is from our NIH:

I couldn't get past the title, given to "healthy" patients.

People with high blood pressure are not healthy

@software Thanks for the link ,  I went there and find it very interesting I hadn't seen or read this one.

I am just starting on the gummies. I started with one but have bumped up to two. CBD oil has no THC. I use it occasionally for when I want to sleep and my brain won't turn off. The two gummies do work for me. I am one of those where it takes a good hour to feel the effects.

@Nancy Drew   Thanks for the info on the gummies I wondered about them .  Everything I read it mentioned the gummies which seems a better option over the oil.  Glad to hear they work well fir you .   No side effects ?

Re: CDB Oil , any thoughts?

[ Edited ]

Efficacy can't be judged by taking a few doses and giving up when you don't see immediate relief.  It has to build up in the system for a couple of weeks and you have to take the right amount.

The problem is that there is no standardization.  Nobody knows what the right amount is.  I've reached out to several companies and was told "you have to figure out what works for you."

I take a 20 MG capsule morning and evening.  It helps a little with joint pain - when I ran out my hands definitely felt worse.  I can attest 100% it helps you sleep better.

I can't wait until there is more standardized research and we have definitive guidelines.  The stuff is wicked expensive if you're getting full spectrum.  I purchase from a farm in VT - SunsOil, and find them to be more reasonably priced and it's a good product.
