A quick thank you to those who responded to my post asking for thoughts and prayers. My bronchoscopy was cancelled and I will have another MRI in three months to see if there have been changes in my lungs.

Because my lung sounds are better, in fact my lungs sound better than they have since May, 2009, it was cancelled. The anesthesiologist said that there are many possible risks to having a bronchoscopy and if it can be avoided, that is best. Some of the risks include irritation which can cause the asthma to act up and since we have it settled down, we need to see if it will stay that way. Other risks, from the doctor's point, is a punctured lung, internal bleeding from where tissue samples are taken, infection, and a couple of other ones, and since this the best my lungs have been in almost two years, he wants to see if they stay that way.

We were all set to go--got to the hospital, filled out forms, changed, signed consent forms, talked with anesthesiologist, had the IV port put in, and then it was cancelled, but that's OK. The surgical nurse who would have been assisting the doctor was shaking her head "yes" when we were discussing the delay until we see what the next CT scan shows. And, then, when the doctor left, she said that I have a very good doctor, that there are risks, and some doctors would have just gone ahead and done it, just because it was scheduled.

So, thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Maybe it was divine intervention that I not have the procedure. I have to believe it was cancelled for some reason not under my control. Your thoughts and prayers mean a lot.
