I suggestions for non medicinal suggestions for pain relief . I fell at physical therapy in July and am dealing with unrelenting pain. My spine specialist is poking along.By the way he is a top rated doctor here in valley of the. Sun.
I am in the process of getting a customized back brace and I have a wonderful pain dr.
I take pain medication only at night. My dh is in hospice and I spend my days with him
Any advice would be appreciated
Thank you 💜

@sydsgma1 You have spine and pain specialists so I don't think there's much anyone here could add to what they told you. I will say I got fitted for a back brace in one afternoon appointment at a medical supply store and walked out with it. Have you had cortisone injections?
If I fell at PT, I'd be talking to an attorney.

@sydsgma1 wow, so sorry. One thing that comes to mind is cold laser treatment. Is that something your physical therapy place offers? If not, many chiropractic offices do or other physical therapy places do. It's a very easy, non invasive treatment. They do have at home models, but it really does sound like you could use professional strength. I found it to be so helpful when I was having some very painful issues with my ribs and another time with my foot and ankle. It helped with the pain right away - and over time it helped more and more. It also helps in healing. Many years ago, my kitty cat Sammy was given cold laser treatment for his painful arthritis and it really helped him - so much. It's something you do as an ongoing series of quick treatments. - every day? Three times a week? Twice a week? Not sure, it would be up to the practitioner. As far as natural pain remedies, I guess I'm not sure what to suggest - cbd oil? Would acupuncture help? Any kind of massage? Cold packs?

@sydsgma1 You are dealing with a lot right now. I'm sorry that your husband is in hospice. To add the continual back pain must be a daily challenge. Thank goodness you have great doctors that appear to be supporting you and addressing the problem. My only suggestion I can add is to be sure you are taking good care of yourself.....sleeping well, eating well, visiting close loved ones who will support you during this time. I'm sending prayers for a speedy recovery from your back pain.🌷

From your thread title I am not exactly sure of the extent of your injuries. If you feel you have the best Spine Doctor, I suggest you follow his instructions to T.
Having had 2 back surgeries to remove 3 ruptured spinal discs, and a cracked tailbone! I don't think there is such a thing as "pain free", especially during the healing stages. Follow your Doctors Advice, the Spine Doctor and your Pain Medicine Doctor.
What I did for mine might not be a good thing for you.
I am sorry to hear about your dh. My thoughts are with you both. 🙏

What is factored? Do you mean fractured? That is serious.

You might want to ask your MD if a TENS unit would help...it can be helpful for distracting from the pain signals, but I don't know about its usefulness in your situation.
So sorry for all you are going through.

I just want to say, I'm sorry to hear that you are going through so much. I hope you can find some relief for your back pain and some comfort for you and your dh as well. Sometimes life just seems too much to bear. I said a prayer for you and your dh.

Are you able to rub a cream over the area? Comfrey is a healing plant that mends bones.
Amazon has one - Traumaplant Comfrey Cream.

Does your state have medical cannabis? I know people whose pain has been relieved by using it. A doctor needs to tell you if it will cause issues with the medications you are currently being prescribed. If your pain management specialists are not familiar with it, the medical cannabis dispensary will have names of doctors who are savvy with its use. If you prefer to have no discernible effects other than pain relief, use suppositories.
I agree that a chiropractor may have treatment equipment that will help you. One did wonders for my husband. Look at the chair where you are sitting while visiting your husband. It may be causing some of your problem.
I am thinking of both you and your husband . What you are experiencing is difficult under the best of circumstances. Being in pain only compounds the problem. Take care.
