I am generally a highly functioning 45 year old. I had cancer about a decade ago and the resultant radiation compromised some of my bones in the area of the cancer. Well, lucky me i broke my hip.
It happened last week on Monday and I was operated on Tuesday (pin, not total hip replacement). I'm back at home and have had some nurse visits and PT/OT. Right now OT said I didn't need them because I'm already independent. PT is coming in a coupld of days.
I'm in a lot of discomfort and things like going from the main level of my house up to my bedroom and such was not even a second thought. I just did it. Now it's a whole plan and use of walker and cane.
Someone who has been thru this, how long does it take to get back to "Normal". What kinds of thins should I be doing. What has your expernience been? Thanks ahead to all those who share their story. I really need some help/inspiration here and I'm running low.
THANKS
