I read @bargainsgirl this way.

The post said the information sited did not indicate that tumeric casued cancer. The poster just seemed confused and just wanted fellow community folks to chime in. Posters in the wellness category are  trusting that they can come here and ask a question and just engage a knowledgable group.

Yes agree that the physician would be the go-to expert and not a chat board. Our docs are not always available for the little questons about health and wellness. Ruputible sources such as Cleveland Clinic, Mayo or NIH are good go -to's.

Correct @granddi---- the Mods have been poofing ALL live links

no matter where it looks like they're taking us just to be safe I guess.🤷‍♀️🤔

Unfortunately that's not the case anymore,

just in the last week I saw 3 or 4 with those endings be poofed by the Mods,

looks like they're meaning absolutely no live links since

even if a live link looks like it's telling where it goes it could be something else (based on what they're said in reasons for poofs).

Post any live link & the whole thread might get poofed. Better be safe than sorry imho. 🤷‍♀️🤔

@twentysixteen

I wonder if any of those poofed posts were mine...LOL! I often refer to dot gov links in some of my posts just to make clear as to where I got my info.

@granddi   NON-CLICKABLE links are allowed.  It allows the user to copy/paste the web addy to their browser addy/search bar on their own.

@twentysixteen   What I do is this.......

After fonting my non-clickable link, I click on Preview at the top of the reply window to CONFIRM the links are un-clickable.

Re: Breast cancer and Turmeric

If a person goes on line to gather information, there is so much conflicting data.  You can for the most part find supposed info to both encourage you and discourage you from taking or using a certain thing.  I wanted to try Turmeric also and one of my doctors told me not to take any of these types of things until after I am done with my treatment.  I also wanted to take it because of what I was reading about help with inflammation, etc.  Most doctors that I have been in contact with don't really have much knowledge about herbal or alternative medicines.  Everything is a prescription med with them.

Re: Breast cancer and Turmeric

I had breast cancer and the chemo and rads and surgery -in 2012-13----I read an article about turmeric and it used mega doses of turmeric in their studies --that huge amount was enough to cause issues with  meds---- I took meds, anti estrogen ones as I had hormone positive cancer--- for 10 years after--sorry wish I could remember more but it seems to me--that a normal dosage won't cause any issues for most people. I think people think they need whopper dosage of supplements when they shouldn't and don't.

There is an article from the NIH dated 2022:

I will type out the link:

In case my typed link info is removed; google or copy/paste the following :
