Oy. I think we all know that. That doesn't change the facts of the study.

Many people do die from the side effects of chemo - mostly sepsis.

Perhaps we, as a society, are more comfortable talking about cancer than we were generations ago. Also, there are more people in our world than there has ever been.
When I was diagnosed 19 years ago I only told a few people close to me and my boss at work. I didn't want to hear horror stories from other people. I didn't want false sympathy from people. If you didn't like me before my diagnosis, you don't get to like me because of my cancer diagnosis.
Some people come from a long line of lawyers, doctors, teachers or police officers. I come from a long line of cancer. I am certain at some time in my life I will be again told I have cancer. And I will again tell few people.

Diet has such a huge factor with illness.
They do say acidic foods cause cancer...a plant based diet is best! I've kept the same weight since I started eating a plant based diet..8 years now! NO SUGAR..it feeds cancer..I use stevia...no smoking or drinking..! Stay away from pharmaceutical drugs if possible..Stress is also a factor...getting enough sleep and water..taking supplements too!

I was diagnosed in 2006 with breast cancer. Had my mammograms every year and no problems. No cancer in my family. Accidently, my dog jumped over me on the couch and my breast hurt. I just had a mammogram 2 months earlier but I called my doctor and went to see her. I didn't have a lump or anything. She sent me for a diagnostic mammogram and still nothing. Then I got an ultrasound and there was something. Had a biopsy and it was cancer. Stage 1. While I was waiting to get results on my tests my surgeon came in and said to me I went over your mammograms for 5 years and there is nothing on them. He then told me it was a slow growing tumor and feels it's been there for at least 5 years. It was then I found out that, at that time, 33% of mammograms don't show cancer. I thought like everyone else mammograms did catch it. I knew what to look for but there was never a lump so thought I was fine. Had 2 surgeries and radiation.
Last year I was waiting on my 3D mammogram and the woman next to me asked if i had breast cancer. I said I did 11 years ago and I was fine. She said she lost weight, exercised and did all the things she was told that would help prevent it from coming back and she was just told her cancer came back. She said not to believe anything about diet, etc. I told her I still eat the same but I do not use deodorant. I rarely go out and will use it then but as a rule won't use it when home. I also don't put makeup on at home either. I never use skin cream either. I assume what goes on the body goes into the body.
I know so many people that have died of cancer and it seems to be everywhere. My neighbor's mother was in her 90s and she got breast cancer and she was always a very thin woman. They never treated it and she died. I asked my oncologist if estrogen is one reason for breast cancer how come older women get it. He said no one knows.
