Yeah, 'they' say we're better off starting our day with a good breakfast. It's supposed to satiate enough, that we're less likely to overeat throughout the rest of the day. And, if we eat lighter afterwards, we've ample time to burn it off. Yada, yada.
Wrong! For me, at least. I LOVE breakfast, but for some reason, when I take time to eat it, I'm hungrier the entire day, consuming too many calories. The minute I put my plate away, I'm plotting lunch. I don't normally do that.
I do best with just coffee with a little creamer for breakfast, then a substantial afternoon lunch, with a light bedtime snack.

I need something to wake up my metabolism.
At the least, a little OJ or cranberry juice.

I drink 32oz of water upon waking up.
That sets the tone for the day.

I have Instant Breakfast because after my early teens heavier foods made my stomach "queezy". I can handle, light, cool, and slightly sweet. Straight fruit is a sugar overload and makes me feel sick.
If I'm in a situation where I have to eat, I'll do a scrambled egg and half a piece of toast.
You can get the body in starvation mode where it holds on to every calorie. It's important to balance.

My thoughts? Really rather simple for me.
If I wake up and I'm hungry - I eat breakfast. If I'm not hungry, I have a cup of coffee (or two or three).
i eat whem I'm hungry. If I'm not hungry, I don't eat.

I don’t eat after 6 p.m., so I am ready to eat in the mornings. Due to an allergy to milk and egg whites, I don’t eat many of the basic breakfast foods early in the day. Toast, English muffins, or bagels with peanut butter, or jam are my early go to foods.
I tolerate breakfast food for supper much better, and often enjoy French toast with bacon or sausage, or gravy and biscuits as my last food of the day.
As a high school student I ate grilled cheese sandwiches and soup. 16 years on 11-7 shift, and I want hamburgers or hot and fries, sub sandwiches, or even fajitas for breakfast.

Whatever a person does, it has to work for them. I wake up hungry so I eat breakfast. I have a mid-morning snack too. After that, I don't feel hungry until we have our evening meal. I could never go all day without eating!

I have a cup of tea and grape nut flakes with 1% milk.

Must eat breakfast! Eat a large breakfast. I also heard that lunch should be light, and dinner also. Don't eat after a certain time in the evening.
Now, they're saying --- don't eat breakfast! Why the sudden change???
What do you all feel about this?
All the years I worked, I never ate a proper breakfast except perhaps when I was off. I would get to work, and perhaps at around 9:30 or so, I would have 1-2 cups of decaf coffee and a protein bar -- that was my breakfast!
Now, that I am retired, I do eat breakfast -- usually within 1/2 hour of getting up. Cereal, bananna, or something of this nature.
Also --- if you do eat breakfast -- what do you feel is a healthy breakfast? I was told by several people that cereal is not that good for you. But I am not much for eggs, and have somewhat high cholesterol.
If you're not supposed to eat breakfast, then do you eat a large lunch???
It's so confusing! Eat breakfast -- don't eat breakfast! This is good, this is bad!
What do you believe???
Thanks for your comments and opinions!
@AngelPuppy1 Some cardiologists recommend Kashi cereal (Go Lean).
