Re: Brain Tumor - Astrocytoma

I don't know if they are still around, but the American Brain Tumor Association was a great source of information to our family back in the early '90s when a relative had a glioblastoma. I know that Duke University and Johns Hopkins are leaders for certain types of brain tumor treatments. Best wishes to your family.

How is your son/you/your family doing? I have been thinking about all of you and keeping you in my prayers.

Re: Brain Tumor - Astrocytoma

I am so sorry. I know when your child hurts you want to take away the pain. I pray that GOD will look after you and your family and give all of you the strength that you need to help him heal and get better. Take care and please come back periodically and let us know how he, you and the family is doing.

Re: Brain Tumor - Astrocytoma

You've been on my mind bkgirl. I noted you haven't posted since this thread. If you are reading, do you have any updated info?

I've been praying for your son and all who love him. My hubby dealt with a glioblastoma. With any type of brain tumor, the location, size and stage of the cancer is a big determinant in treatment and survival rates.

Take care.

Dear Kathy, (bk girl)

I just want you to know how many of us strangers out here are praying for your loving son to get well and return to his family, job, and life. I know you must be so frightened. Just hearing someone has a brain tumor, makes one weak. It's going to take all of you and your family to give him constant support, and hide your own fears from him. You sound like a great mother. God bless your Adam. Stay strong!

Re: Brain Tumor - Astrocytoma

I can't begin to tell you all what your support & prayers have meant to me. I'm overwhelmed by the kindness of all of you. Thank you!!! My son finally connected with the doctor in San Francisco, and is now in the preparation mode of tests & legalities. He will be having a "wada" procedure done next week to determine what part of his brain is responsible for his speech and memory abilities. When those results are in, the surgery will be scheduled. I'm trying to be a cheerleader for him & his wife, but inside my heart is breaking. We all believe strongly in the power of prayer, so for now, that's all anyone can do. Thank you for the kindness of all of you!
