I have been warned about possible brain fog from major surgery. I believe it's more of an issue as we age.

@foxywoods

Actually I have had anesthesia for surgery more than once and had no problems.

However, that one incuident. was so odd in that I  just kept walking and walking around in my house, for a few days afterwards.

I never had it since and hope to never have that reaction again. I knew it was weird but I still could not stop.

@foxywoods

I think brain fog after anesthesia is common and expected. I expected to have general anesthesia for each of my two knee replacements and nearly through a fit when my doctor said no, he was giving me a spinal. He said I would feel a whole lot better afterwards than if I had general anesthesia. All I could think about was feeling the knee surgery. So I argued with him, slightly.  He looked at my husband and daughter, shook his head and said I've never known anybody that wanted to feel worse than they had to.  Of course he was right and I didn't have all that memory loss and brain fog afterwards.
