Bodyblade- This thing is FUN!

After watching this for at least a year, I finally broke down and bought it. It's the simpliest thing, but really works. It's not as easy as it looks on tv, it's tiring. But fun! I haven't used the dvds that came with it yet.
Anyone else recently buy this?

@Quse I haven't purchased but I have thought about it a few times.I just wondered where I would store it and if I would use it often. You say it is fun so I find that gives me pause to think about it again....I hope you don't mind this question but would you consider yourself fit or beginning a fitness routine.

I'm laughing at your question trying to decide how to answer that!
I used to be very athletic, ran a lot, weight lifted, cycled....used to spend a couple of hours at the gym every day. Then, I got rear ended in 2001 (not serious, but enough where I had to stop doing some things) and basically...just got lazy. For years, I didn't do much and gained a lot of weight (I'll spare you the rest of the story)
Soooo, I'd say, at this point, I'm at the beginning/early middle of fitness again. I messed up both of my knees (1 ACL snap and 2 surgeries later, the other knee by it having to compensate for the bad one), so I no longer run (which is sad, becasue that would get the weight off fast)
Right now, I walk about 3-5 miles a day, combination of outside with my dog, and on the treadmill with an incline. I also use a stationary bike, some weights, and the bodyblade/fit board (another fun thing to use). I also stretch on an aeropilates machine, which I love. This may sound like a lot, but I'm not doing "gung ho" crossfit type stuff, I walk after dinner rather slowly just for digestion. I just started getting back into a regular fitness schedule in November 2016, so I'm not "fit" by any stretch of the imagination. BUT, becaause I was athletic, I'm finding that it's coming back easier, my pants are starting to hang more and I feel better. My main goal is to continue to just keep moving and keep going, not the "burn and hurt" that I used to do.
I don't know if I actually answered your quesiton or not...lol

It is harder than it looks, for sure.  Good low impact exercise.

I was a Jazzercise instructor, and what I learned through it all was, do what works for you, and do not over-do.

Enjoy the BB.

Re: Bodyblade- This thing is FUN!

I have had one for about 20 years and use it nearly every day.  I started using mine on the recommendation of my chiropractor since I have nerve damage in my arms and had to stop using heavier weights and doing pushups.  The results are every bit as good as when I used 20 and 25 pound dumbbells.  It's so thin it can be kept anywhere but I keep mine out in the living room and often just pick it up and use it off and on all day.  I also got cardio blades - 2 smaller ones to use together.

@Quse

I have had mine for about 15 years, including in smaller individual pair. They are effective for their purpose/as challenging as you want to make them, and can be used even sitting down.

Looking for toning muscles/working the quads, or a very effective toning mechanism for the complete triceps muscle group? This is one good way to succeeding. Worth every penny to me.

Store it? You can stand it straight up in any corner in your home. It is flat and thin. I do not know the length of my large body blade, but I am about 5'8" and it barely comes up to my waist.

If you are looking for toning muscles, it is very effective. Should you be planning on running a marathon, not so much as far as cardio. Most of my adult life I have fallen into the upper 10% of my age group, and I find it effective for its intended purpose.

As with any other piece of exercise device or machine, it will do nothing if it is kept stored in the aforementioned corner

@hckynut Is it more for the upper body toning? How often do you use yours?Do you find it strenuous and were the movements difficult to master?I am asking you this as you know a lot about fitness and I think you will have the best answers...thanks.

I also made specific rountines using dance moves with both my body blade and the smaller cardio blades and get the best workout in half an hour using ankle weights.

I would imagine you could store this just about anywhere you wish...it's something that can fit in the corner behind your door or in a closet, under any bed that has 2 inches of space.
