I can tell you that per my doctor, my cholesterol being high has to do more with genetics as my parents and all my siblings had and have high cholesterol.  I have to take a statin and it goes back into the normal range.

Sometimes high cholesterol and lipids is genetic and not related to what you eat but you shouldn't see to nutritionists a consult and to review your diet.
