Knew you were highly educated, now even more than I thought. Guess I can use the word education for myself, but from completely different sources.
@hckynut, I read @Drythe's Post about an hour ago and was about to post, but had to run out.
I would really like to compliment the both of you. I usually skip over quotes about medical stuff but once @Drythe said "let's break this down "K" I just had to read it.
I enjoy reading your Posts about your life experiences. You've been throught it all and still keep on going. Way to go!!
The saying "you can't keep a good man down" really applies to you.

I quoted a study that said they found no indication in the subjects they studied through a number of ages that age did NOT affect blood pressure. That's good enough for me.
Why should it, after all? If you lead a good lifestyle even when you're old an gray you don't necessarily have to develop HBP. LIFESTYLE. WHEN YOUR YOUNG TYPICALLY CARRIES OVER TO YOUR OLDER YEARS. Unless later in life you give up on your care.
Let's break this down 'K?
1 - the sentence I highlighted above, contains a double negative - 'they found NO indication ... that age did NOT affect blood pressure."
Unless the authors of your Medical Studies have started using awful grammar in their studies - that double negative means that they could NOT prove that age did NOT affect blood pressure.
2- As for the information you provided regarding the study of Pastoral societies,
"Some populations across the globe have minimal rise in blood pressure with aging. In some parts of Mexico, the South Pacific, and other parts of the world, people have very low salt intake. In these areas, the age-related rise in blood pressure is small compared with the U.S."
The paragraph above which you have shared several times says clearly -
"In these areas (Mexico, South Pacific, etc,) the age related rise in blood pressure is small compared with the US."
So, even in these areas they DO have age related rise in blood pressure.
How do I know? Because your study says so, it says their rate of age related blood pressure is small (see small - but NOT non existent). Compared with the US. (See the US has age related increase in blood pressure because your study says so.)
Yes, these pastoral countries have some age related rise in blood pressure, but it is SMALL compared to the amount of age related blood pressure found in the US.
If that were not true, how could they compare the two, and conclude that the US has more?
I'm not a clinician and neither are you, unless you qualify yourself as such. I quoted a study. I believe it has been peer reviewed (2017) and can be located in Medical Journals. That's good enough for me.
3 - Thank you for the information, I had not thought you were a clinician.
Because of my education, training, and experience, yes, I do.
I have no investment in what you say. However, everyone should have caution making statements about the treatments & medication of those of whom they have no personal information, or of providing snippets of studies as full data. Do no harm.
@Drythe all that re-pasting and you still didn't prove your point. I will STAND BY WHAT THE PEER REVIEWED data states.
I don't care what you do for a living. Sometimes, I think it's to find my posts to pick fights.
Age has nothing to do with high blood pressure. If it did, other cultures would be affected like we are. Salt/sodium is not just available in the U.S. Furthermore, diet and exercise is not nearly as prevalent in the U.S. as it is in other countries. They tell us SITTING IS THE NEW SMOKING.
Americans would rather jump in their cars before walking. It's all cultural. We don't exercise and by everything I've read, the US has one of the highest rates of obesity in the civilized world.
Having said this, it would stand to reason that it is not age, but lifestyle that plays a role in hbp. Finally, if I want to suggest someone see a physician that's my business. It's obvious the person doesn't have to listen to me. However, I'm not like you. I might have influenced someone reading here, by telling them to see their physician.
For those who don't go to physicians and prefer witch doctors, well they can run off to them also.
Double that negative why don't you?![]()

You didn't bring anything new to the table though @Drythe .
If picking apart the grammar of a medical document taken from the web, was what you think you contributed here, your participation was/is moot.
Pffffftttttttt.

Well, I didn’t have to prove anything, you proved with this little snippet - you provided & it proves you wrong.
See it right here?
1- Across the globe there is minimal rise in blood pressure due to aging. Just as your proof says."Some populations across the globe have minimal rise in blood pressure with aging. In some parts of Mexico, the South Pacific, and other parts of the world, people have very low salt intake. In these areas, the age-related rise in blood pressure is small compared with the U.S.". 2- their age related rise in blood pressure is small compared with the U.S. So, the US has age related rise in BP too.
Your own source disproves your statement : )
Now it’s established that age related rise in blood pressure exists in the US, and in other parts of the world.
Once again I ask you to Stop tagging me, and to stop adding nasty comments to my posts which are not written to you.
BTW - If you didn’t care what I do for a living, why did you ask me? 😄

All this went away with Carditone which I discovered while diligently searching for an alternative. I am so grateful,,,no side effects and normal BP, It has been years that I have been healthy and grateful.

Allopathic meds made me sick and had constant bronchitis. I will not recommend/suggest what anyone else should do. Just sharing my own experience.
@phoenixbrd Carditone has been working for many years for my DH. It was recommended by @SeaMaiden . His doc told us to get an arm cuff, not a wrist cuff for more accurate reading. We always take our cuff with us to appointments to check and compare readings. My DH also has white coat syndrome.
Thank you @SeaMaiden for mentioning this amazing alternative. I always hesitate to do so, but realize that maybe someone else might be able to benefit from my recovery. I don't consider myself an expert, just sharing my experience. Best of health to you!
@phoenixbrd I have been on Carditone for probably 20 years now. I still do watch my weight and intake of sodium and such. So far I have done well in keeping off of meds... as I get older I will have to probably work even harder at controlling my BP naturally as I also have genetics geared toward HB. I take it day by day. So glad to share with others and seeing good results!
