What foods cause bloating and gas?

Read a book called Wheat Belly. I gave up wheat and ALL my bloating and gas went away. I'm not a celiac and Wheat and gluten are not synonymous so you have to be careful with gluten free foods.

I still eat lots of veggies in the cruciferous family (cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts) and I have no problems with gas or bloating. Unbelievable I know but it worked for me!

When fruit/veggies are mixed with animal products (meat-cheese-eggs) is when the smell & bloat begin. Bloating is Mother Nature's way of saying 'NOOOOOO!!' & then she causes this temporary inflammation. Heed her warning & remove that food. Or eat it alone & see if it causes same effect.

Beans & cruciferous veggies are notoriously famous for gas...but eating them for a while, the gas just disappears. Plus, it's a gas that doesn't have smell.

Food Combining charts...research & see if that helps.

That totally depends on your own particular chemistry and sensitivities.

I combine meat and veggies/fruit and do not have this problem.

Dairy products can provoke this problem in those who are lactose intolerant.

I found that meat is the culprit for me. If I eat too much I have problems, Also gave up dairy a few years ago and drink a super green smoothie every morning.

If there's bloating, there's a greater than zero chance there's a smell...phew!!! Just eliminate the meat/animal products if there's a smell...everyone eating a meat/animal product will smell....it's Human 101...the bacteria causes it.

Does eating meat make your poop smell worse?

Yes, meat protein is rich in sulfides, resulting in smellier farts and poop. This is the reason that the poop of carnivores such as dogs, cats and snakes smells worse than the poop of herbivores such as cows and horses.

I took out gluten and sugar from my diet and my bloating has gone away. I used to bloat every time I ate bread or pasta. I rarely have any problem with gas anymore, either. I'm on a paleo-style diet.

OP is asking about bloat, not smelly poop.
